A personal favorite of mine, your gothic revival facade is eloquent! I'm not sure if you were asking for actual help painting this, or whether ou wanted advice on maybe colour choices etc. I can offer my opinion on colours to start the conversation. To further enhance the brick corbelling around the sill line, and other horizontal banding, I would go with a similar dark tone, so the brick detail blends seamlessly into other architectural details. Unifying the most impressive elements in single application of colour keeps it looking classy and avoids becoming fussy. Distinctive exteriors such as yours benefit from a simple and sympathetic colour palette. So use the buildings colour palette and build on that. Brick corbelling was to accentuate the horizontal plane, and ran thought detailed window bays, and extravagant entry sets, helping draw your eye around the entire facade. So using a colour tone, perhaps not too dissimilar form the dark brick itself, would really make them stand out even moreso. Something like a woodland grey would link into the slate roofing also, and is still a coloured grey, with a browninsh undertone to it. It works well with established foliage, and most styles of architecture. Good thing in that you've already seen what white highlighting does to it, now I'd go down the other path, and darken the trim work, so he cream brick detailing becomes more prominent on the window arches.

I think if you replace front door and glass panels as well as the old fashioned lights with something more contemporary it will make a huge improvement. I'd also remove the ironwork and as you cannot re-glaze place some pots and plants on the sides of the large windows to draw the eye away from all the green cross pieces on the windows. Eventually paint the gutters fascia in a light grey/green.

We have an even better match now. Took my sample of frame to another paint shop and they were brilliant! Kept working on the mix until it was right. And even better the lady was an interior decorator and advisor and gave me some great advice on colour choosing. Thinking of going quite a bit lighter for the walls and adding some pops of colour in verandah posts and/or fret work. Feeling so much better about the choices now. The samples on the cards are all the colours I originally had, we’ve just pulled in Haymes Overcast as the overall colour rather than Charcoal Grey. Will use the Charcoal in the features. Really excited to get weatherboards on and start painting!! It pays to shop around!!

I love your view! There's options here, and they'll be led by where your blinds are installed in my opinion. It looks like you might need to install the blinds to the face of the architraves, in which case, I'd be selecting pale blinds to sit outside the window as they'll, hopefully be up out of the way most of the time. If they fit inside the recess, then I'd select dark.
