Am I on the right track with these plans???
Comments (18)i also think the outside stairs work better for coming home with the groceries in good weather and, having lived in a similar upstairs bedroom overheating can be a problem: use the best insulation in the ceiling, roof and walls including between the ceiling of the living areas and the floor of the top level (our top level bathroom used to get a hot floor from the heat in the roof space). Shade cloth roller blinds or shutters on the north facing window. (do you like the French balcony?) will improve comfort levels and check out "stack effect" ...having a window open downstairs and a window open on the opposite side of the house upstairs will flush out the house as hot air rises..install closing doors on stairs and hallways to reduce draughts and contain heat in cold weather and add ceiling fans to increase air circulation...See MoreWhat can anyone tell me about this Parker lounge suite- age etc Thanks
Comments (5)My parents had a similar style with Berber covers and if my memory serves me right it would be about late 60's early 70's they also only had Noblett furniture for their dining and lounge coffee and buffet tables oh boy they were made to last and still were in excellent condition when they passed away so sad to have to let them all go but we didn't need it whoever bought them at auction will be happy, they will outlast a lot of the 'ready access' furniture that's available today. I can't remember if the lounge suite was Parker or Noblett but the style is the same....See MoreCan houzzers help me renovate our 1980s kitchen?
Comments (28)Could you swap the fridge with the wall oven, going by your photo both fridge and Wall Oven would fit side by side. I would definately have the fridge on the cook top wall and not on the other side of the kitchen. I see by the photo that the timber beam could be in the way, I would speak to your plumber who should have a simple solution on ducting the range hood. A simple one built into a special cabinet above the cooktop can recirculate or be ducted outside by either exposed stainless tube for your industrial/country look or have the ducting boxed in, the ducting can be flexable so no problem avoiding beams....See MoreHelp - changing direction of stairs
Comments (35)This keeping the stairs as planned, including a separate toilet upstairs which I need to draw up Because your ceilings are so high this will allow for a section of wall 2100 - 2400 height which hides a sink cleanup within the kitchen family which will be full of light., plus a storage area. I am working on showing you what this would look like in 3D if I can With all the light coming in through all the windows you won't need the extra void anyway, great spot for the Toilet perhaps...See Morebigreader
