What about a pendant like the photo or two single ones and a plain beige edged carpet or sisal rug big enough to allow chairs to be pulled out onto it cheers

Big While Shag Pile rug to add the freshness and texture and I would look for a large white pendant light (or if you you want to be posh a chandelier). I would go traditional like your furniture not hard industrial.

A modern chandelier, glass or with timber accents to match either the legs of your table or your buffet. Remove the mirror from top of the buffet and hang longways on wall space, beside the buffet, I would put the wine rack in another room. Soften the glass doors by hanging green shot silk drapes, I think there is still a place for drapes sometimes, pick a green that matches or compliments the green in the rug, which I think will richen the room or replace rug with a more subtle pattern - good luck

Thanks Kat for that advice. I've removed the wine rack as you suggested and that is a big improvement. Too many different tones of timber going on. Also like the modern chandelier option. Not fond of my green rug so will go with the softer shade rug but do agree that the harsh black window frames need some softening. Thanks for taking the time to help :)

Hi Jayrees, I totally agree with what Kat had to offer, I would suggest a non geometric pattern on the rug as the floor is already geometric, a light colour and subtle pattern if you prefer a pattern. The mirror should definitely be moved and I would consider a large light print to compliment the new rug and and drapes. It's a pity that the window screen blocks the view (it's a nice view) but the heavy screen is a necessity these days, I would remove the stickers from the glass to help with the openness.

Just noticed that you have an air con in the room so you may be able to remove the screen.
