If you have not already made this kitchen I would like to help, it lacks adequate storage for good pantry space. If you need a lot of fridge space I am not sure that is the best method as it takes up a lot of space. The idea of adding the bench for the kids is a good concept but the high back means the kids can't see you all the time and they will end up on your side of the bench so they can see you. Incorporating space for the kids at the end of the island bench would be more functional for both you in the kitchen and the kids would be able to see you move around and feel a part of things. Also how will they use this space kids don't just sit still they will want a bench or something they can use to draw do homework etc. Colour contract of light and dark always looks good. P.S white bench tops are not hard to keep clean and they don't date, the nature of the stone itself is easy to clean.

We have dulux whisper white cabinetry and it is lovely soft/warm but I made mistake of using non-tinted ceiling paint and even with bulkhead divide it looks too stark white (or makes cabinetry look too creamy). Since I can't change the cabinetry, I think I will eventually go over ceiling with 1/4 tint whisper white.

Hi, Have you considered a light Oak joinery, those colours would be amazing with a bit of timber. If the room is small, you can use a combination of Oak and White to create a modern vibe. this is probably not the style you are going with but you get the idea. And as per the photo brass is a very current addition to this colour scheme. Best of luck with your project! MKG

Hi, paint cabinets white, off white, deep navy blue, greige or moderately dark grey. two tone would also look ok - light/white on top, darker on bottom. Maybe choose paint based on other colours used in house. Please do not paint sage!!!! replace the cabinet handles with modern chrome T handles or similar. Replace curtain with white venetian. paint/cover brick. get rid of brick next to stove and replace with a panel. tile paint tiles white and extend to behind stove. or get creative and add a nice geometric feature tile that compliments the colours behine stove and exhaust fan. put down some cheap water proof wood look laminate click flooring. consider adding same geometric print to breakfast bar and add a couple of cute high stools from kmart or ebay. Change fan to chrome or spray paint silver. replace beam light with pendant light, maybe glass to be safe or something that is modern, meracrtor is good brand, or even just a modern round oyster type light.
