Thanks for your feedback ... I love the idea of the grey grout but worry it would make too much of a feature of the subway tile ... Would prefer to use towels & pictures to feature ... But will give it some thought ... I find it interesting about the negativity of the subway tile when it seems to be featuring in all the current home mags ( not the architectural ones which seem to focus on concrete, timber & stone)

If you live in a small apartment, or you can see both sets of cabinetwork together from a hallway, or another room, then matching them would be a good idea for visual consistancy. In a smaller home it is always a good idea to limit the number of materials and colours in your pallete to avoid it looking busy. Chose materials and colours that will work well in both spaces. Just because something works well in one room, it doesn't mean that it will automatically work as well in the other room due to different light (and windows). If you live in a larger home, and there is no visual link between the two rooms then there is no need to use the same materials and colours. with a wall cabinet almost 4 m wide i would expect to have at least 9 doors each over 440mm wide?? and with only 3 doors or even three pairs of doors you would have to step backwards to open the doors and they're much too wide and heavy ...how deep is the vanity below the wall cabinet and is the wall cabinet recessed into the wall or wall mounted?... do you need this much wall storage for medicines and toiletries? combined with storage in the vanity an average wall cabinet 1200 wide (with three doors) should be more than enough for the usual collection for one person ...consider a recessed wall cabinet say 2400 wide with six doors and the balance of the wall with fixed mirrors ..you need to talk to the builder and/or cabinet maker to decide what suits your needs

can't advise about the best paint but suggest you take one of the doors or drawers to a specialist paint shop and ask them (not basic hardware store)...you won't need much paint so the best quality to suit the job will be a worthwhile investment...should be a simple easy job but would imagine that brush painting will be safer and less messy for the walls but you could spray doors and drawers outside for a different finish but the paint specialist should be able to give best advice and would love to see the finished job and learn what product you chose
