Loving the bath, and the whole look. Floor tiles are from Jatana Interiors. They have a fab range of hand made encaustic tiles. I've noticed I posted the wrong After photo, here the shower screen isn't in, but it doesn't make much of a difference anyway. There is a piece of tape on the floor where the screen goes, and it travels down that tile line. We lived with the 1950s look for years, just because the tiles and bath were still in great condition, and also they were cemented directly to the brick wall underneath, so quite a bit of prep work once we removed the tiles.

Katherine, I am just curious about the look of the rest of your house? For example, what look is the kitchen and external look of house. I love your bathroom, but not sure if it would match the era of my house. I am beginning to think that in bathrooms, they really only look unique and have an extra "something" when the floors aren't the typical grey, charcoal, beige........not sure what to do yet with mine...

Hi, it's a small space, not sure of dimensions. Maybe, 3 X 3.?The outside of my house is a 1950,s weatherboard, we have old wooden floorboards, and we are yet to do the kitchen. I don't really have a style. Here is my lounge room?

The room is a bit messy, but I hope this helps you with your decision. I choose what I like, it may not be to everyone's taste.

Thanks Katherine. I wish my place looked like that when it was messy. :o) Your place is very similar to mine, but mine doesn't have any ornate/character features....it looks like you have plaster walls and some chairs rails and so I can see that the tiles would match.

Sorry....just one more question? How are you finding the cleaning around the free standing bath...is it a lot more than an inset (built in) bath....

Cleaning bathrooms is a chore anytime. It's a pain, but not difficult. I use the stick vacuum, with the soft brush, which fits behind the bath, then the old fashioned style mop, which also fits behind it. A bit more fiddle, than the inset bath, but a trade off for the look. A bit like stilettos versus flats.
