Help planning dining room shelving/window seat/bookcase

My dining area needs a make-over and I am seeking advice. I have ideas of what I want - I just don't know how to pull it together.

I would like to have some built in storage along our dining room wall. At the moment we have a buffet and three bookcases. It looks terrible.

I would like a cupboards and shelving along the internal wall (2.4m) and then some sort of shelving and window seat along the external/window wall (5.7m). The short wall next to sliding doors is only 30cm so it makes having a uniform width running along that wall difficult if I want a bench seat included.

I am not sure if it would look good going all the way to the 9ft ceilings? I am not sure how to plan the 5.7m wall either. We pine flooring and a beautiful new white kitchen so unsure of the types of materials to choose. I am also aware of not overpowering the space.

Any help would be appreciated. I am open to all ideas.

Full built ins across your window wall would look amazing. Maybe consider keeping drawers along bottom for a clean look and hidden storage for not so pretty items and then shelving above. Taking it all the way to the ceiling would look great too.
For the short wall next to the door you could think about shelving to the inside of the window seating for a different look like the images below.

Did you have a kitchen company/cabinet maker supply your new kitchen? Perhaps contact them fir quotes and design assistance.

The bookcase is very narrow & if you can remove the shelving, store the contents elsewhere & paint a feature colour or put some wallpaper in the back that suits your decor style (woven grass cloth e.g) & just have a painting or mirror there to simplify what is an entry point to your living room & kitchen. A narrow shelf or two in a dark timber or glass with console display items or a vignette of framed photos could be more decorative too. These canvas photo prints stretched over a frame could look good.Or if you need the space for storage some doors or drawers could be custom made to suit unless you start again. This niche idea could be built in too with lighting added.

This is another way, the dining table is a great put down for bringing things in from the car and behind the door, "Mudroom" for all those coats bags keys etc. A large artwork on the wall next to the dining table would dress up that wall Your outdoor area is big enough for an outdoor setting and BBQ, and you will be able to pass food through the kitchen window by taking down the fly screen while having BBQ's great apartment, cheers

Hi Siriuskey, I thought the playroom and study were under the bedroom section only. The plan doesn't show any external stairs up to the porch and front door, so they look like being at ground level. Lumpets would know if my comment has any relevance or not. If this is a real issue I would recommend not having the L return bench in the new kitchen (corner cupboards are always impractical expensive compromises IMHO), and instead use that space for the powder room. then the drain can go through the outside wall to the right without cutting into the slab. If there are no problems running that drain under the floor the other position that you and Dr Retro have suggested would definitely still be better, with the door to the powder room off a more neutral space opposite the internal stairs.

scottevie I wanted to explore all possibilities before I call them, to be definite on the look, before I commit otherwise it could end up looking quite bland. I just wish I had more vision.

I can't get my head around panoramic photos. But built ins always look great. There are great insp pics here on Houzz and Pintrest.

Have you got a couple of pics of your kitchen you could post so that we can see what style you need the area to coordinate with? As bigreader said, their is a lot of inspiration if you pop window seat into the photo search.
