Intersting ideas. First: pink is definitely out. Her little sister has pink and that's way too childish for this one.. I like the feature wall idea. But she thinks the idea of a totally different colored wall is weird. I will keep working on that! She is interested in the tree decals from etsy. Thanks for that one. Toys are in another room. The bedroom will eventually include a desk, but not yet.

I remember years ago being in a similar predicament and someone gave me some mirror tiles - I glued them on the the wall and thought I was very clever. They actually did look much better in my eyes. Try not to spend too much - I think everyone's idea of a shower curtain will all the bathroom colours in it would probably be the best option. You'll laugh about it in years to come and you will love the improvements you make over time. Enjoy the moment, unless you're selling soon your ideas will change after living there, so change when you can afford it - who cares it's YOURS. Good luck, it's so rewarding and so much fun. P.S. now we have a small bathroom, wall to wall tiles, dark grey on the floor and white on all the walls with a large grey tile up each opposing wall, tall mirror over the handbasin which reflects the opposite wall then a full length bath with shower over it. It works perfectly and looks great.

HU, I've replied to old posts, sometimes the related questions that appear can be confusing and the date can be overlooked, it happens, I think many of us have done it, so don't worry about it. Thing is, if the original poster is no longer following and if other people looking for inspo are more likely to get advice by starting a question of their own than getting lost in an old discussion and if people willing to reply waste time reading through before noticing the question is 7 years old, and it brings it back to the first page making it more likely more people will mistake it for a recent discussion, I'm not sure how productive any of that is, so I appreciate the 'old post' advisory, and in that spirit since I've now added to the conversation I'll draw to others' attention that this is an OLD POST

Looks like you're going for a monochromatic look, but for now it's all very grey (grey couch, grey rug, grey cushions, grey wallpaper) so you need stronger accents of black & white, black to give it more depth and white to brighten it up (could just be the photo, but looks a bit dark) and then add some bling with silver & mirror accents, which I see you've already done with the curtain rods and coffee table legs (love the marble top btw)... so my suggestions would be: 1. Put a large mirror framed in black (silver will wash out against the grey wallpaper) e.g. 2. Looks like a bit of $$ was spent on the curtains so no need to change, but make them stand out by adding a thin black border to the sides (or a thicker say 40-50cm black border at the base) e.g. 3. If possible get a bigger side table (as the current one is completely lost in that corner) and a higher one too (as it sits too low compared to height of arms of couch) and place a nice silver or mirror base with black shade table lamp, e.g. 4. Get a rectangular black & white (animal print my perso fav) ottoman and place it at the open end of your living area, which will frame and zone the space but still allow easy access on either sides as well as creating extra seating when entertaining, e.g. 5. Remove a couple of the current cushions (too much of same-same) and add mix & match cushions, a couple of black & white ones to pick up the ottoman and one or two white faux fur ones to add a bit of glam (even add a white faux fur throw as suggested by ASVI) again same e.g. 6. Group some objects, pots, books, candles and/or flowers/fern (for warmth) in the same colours of black, white, grey and silver and create a nice little vignette on your coffee table, e.g.
