Comments (5)Paint your side board with Annie Sloan chalk paint. Probably cost you about $150-$200 to do yourself. I have done quite a bit of my older style furniture and it has really given me a new life for the furniture and saved me $$$ in not having to replace.. Comments (4)@girlguides, I believe that is how the current owner has their furniture. LCS, did you mean to include pic of house plan? If your furniture is lighter neutrals like in the houzz photo examples, an idea might be to paint the wainscotting in a grey perhaps which would help balance the redness in the floors. A neutral that will work well with other neutrals. The lighter colour furniture would then "lift" the look.
