Hello, the way to make the room feel bigger is to take out the ceiling up to the roof line and add an openable / remote operable roof window. Look at Fakro and Velux web sites. A bit of structural work to do in the roof but well worth the effort to achieve a light filled ventilated space. Ideally a " wet room " with no timber products and all stainless steel fittings. No chrome on base metal otherwise they will corrode in no time. If you can try and break through walls for the wall cabinet if there is a cupboard or robe behind this is also a space saving method. The window can be pushed out in a bay to enhance the space. Have not read much of the above but importantly remove all tiles, do not tile over old tiles. Waterproof the shower area walls before tiling. Don't take the glass shower screen to the floor, leave a gap and stand the glass on a stainless steel balustrade foot. Angle or channel fix the other edge to the wall. No need for a door on a wet room. Vanity cabinets are available in plastic but change the screws to stainless steel. Ideally no base cabinet and have a wall recessed cabinet as mentioned above. Don't think outside the square, think outside the box. @wuff -- I bought mine a few months ago while on a trip to the USA. It wasn't on holiday and had limited shopping time, which left me with empty luggage space to fill :-). I visited a discount/surplus items store and got them cheap! I'd been looking for months for some, but nothing I saw here came close to the heavy-quality metal of the ones I bought. I love the colours you suggest and they would really make the corner pop. Make it personal. Be brave. Options; Wall mounted boxes or floating shelves to display some colourful treasures above toddler height. Pinterest search 'Wall display Boxes" The next 2 sound a bit hippie but you can do them with your toddler and if they get pulled down noone gets hurt. - Fabric collage on a sore bought canvas with pieces of velvet, satin, silk in your favourite colours. Finding some vintage fabrics or op shop clothes to cut up is a cheap activity and add you can even add some bling or go with a geometric art deco style.Again Pinterest has great images. - Patchwork quilt style wall hanging eg.https://www.instagram.com/jenkingwell/?hl=en
