Can I lighten my trims somehow?
Comments (14)Yes, same colour in different textures will provide consistency throughout with just enough variance to make it look interesting. Are you repainting your walls, if so and if you have the time I'd recommend buying sample pots of the whites you're interested in and painting a decent size swatch of them on walls to see their colour change under different lighting- it will look one colour while still wet in the tin, but completely different once dry on a wall under your house lights and the changing daylight. If it's strictly trim you're painting then that's not really necessary. Can't wait to see the end result, the dark beams with lighter trims throughout the house will look absolutely magnificent....See MoreBlack or Brown lounge for this room?
Comments (15)Have a look at this brand, they have great warranties, are comfortable, you're sure to find something you both like here. Ask for a sale price, and whether it's returnable. Do the butt test (sit), check under the cushions for construction. my first hubby was 6,4", we had classic style sofas, one light green, one patterned, not the squishy kind. As long as you look for the high back. Measure him from back of his rear to his knee. That's the seat depth you want. Tall guys get sore backs, so look for good back support. http://www.kingliving.com.au/sofas-modulars-and-armchairs/#mhoChXfmgy3DHsFH.97 Above all, take your room measurements with you everywhere....See MoreFront door colour for brown brick house
Comments (26)I say go for it as your door is the window to your home. My advice would be to consider the colour of the flecks in your brick to make sure your chosen colour works with it and not to forget about the colour of your roof and window frames. For example I would have loved a red door but it would have looked ghastly with the green roof on my 25 year-old house. Instead I did black with dark grey window frames (which truly just look black) which works to pick up the black in the brick. I added my big pot plants with green foliage and still got a touch of red in the form of an old chair I picked up from an op shop years ago. The entrance is welcoming, attractive and reflects what is waiting inside. Have fun and if your chosen colour isn't quite right do what I did and find a way of incorporating it into the scheme somehow....See MoreCan a brown carpet work with a beach theme?
Comments (29)The blue you add has to be very soft and beachy and I find looks stunning with brown but as I said HAS to be kept soft would work as well with the earthy beige/sand tone as well as the white, once again it has to be something you love and are happy with so bring home swatches or keep an eye on pinterest as well as Houzz pics to see if you can find similar, it's your home and space it has to feel like you and make you happy perhaps even get some paint swatches to play about with...I know changing things is a big decision so good luck again....See Moresimstress
