Comments (54)I would start with making a decision on the carport first. Start by talking to the council as you may not be able to do a double carport (and the single carport at your neighbours looks like a tight squeeze!) Also as Missmel said you should probably also make a decision whether to paint or not early on. If you are going to go with carport, paint, new awning and possibly porch windows you are getting into a whole new look so I would start talking a professional about the best way to design it. As an alternative to the porch enclosure could you get the front windows double glazed to reduce noise? If it was my place I think I would only be changing the awning, paint the fences, landscape, and maybe do a single carport if its really needed (plus the tiling etc that you mentioned). Some new fretwork might be nice too. To me the main thing to change is the bullnose, as you said its not original and it looks heavy and dominating. You will have to post some pics when done I will be really interested to see how this all turns out....See MoreNo skirting boards with carpet
Comments (17)Hi AW my photos are only two. The other four photos are from houzz. I search bedroom in Perth. As we still build with concrete slab and double brick walls over here in the west. Gradually changing to other build types. In WA, You have to specifically ask the builders over here to install skirting boards if you what them. They are not included in the normal build. I think the look is fine....See MoreFix my kitchen design please!
Comments (29)I'm so sorry you are having trouble! I love that you went for colour but the wall colour isn't right, changing this would be a massive improvement in regards to the colour scheme - cheaper than changing the tiles too and I'm assuming you loved these..? A cool neutral would be perfect, it will compliment the turquoise and compliment the warmth of the timber, stark white of the cabinetry and even pull in those (in my opinion) lovely pendants! Here are some suggestions but definitely get test pots! https://www.dulux.com.au/colour/whites-and-neutrals/popular-neutrals#!/colour/dulux_dulux_26174 https://www.dulux.com.au/colour/whites-and-neutrals/popular-neutrals#!/colour/dulux_dulux_26028 https://www.dulux.com.au/colour/whites-and-neutrals/popular-neutrals#!/colour/dulux_dulux_26045 Best of luck!...See MoreHelp! Comments (21)I did get a guy out to give me a quote on cleaning and painting the roof. He said he will have to quote it using scaffolding because of the steep roof. That was a couple of weeks ago, but haven't heard back from him yet. I have seen some bad paint jobs of terracotta tiles so am a bit nervous about getting it painted. I wouldn't mind if my tiles were just slightly darker like yours rather than orange, but I do know that the darker they are, the more they will hold heat and Brisbane is hot....See MoreMel N
