Agree with Siriuskey. Neither of these will give you functional light. I think both are a tad big for the space also. They would work over your dining table. The black would reference the cabinets and pop against the table our have pictured.

If you were to put one of your gorgeous choices over a dining table, I'd just do a surface mount downlight x2 over the island, else it could be pendant overkill.

Thanks everyone. I do have functional downlights in the kitchen , under the overhead cupboards and also in the kitchen space between the island and the cupboards. The pendants are purely because I adore them ! I was considering 3 pendants over the island but wanted to try something different this time round. I do have some cane feature pieces in this same space, plant holders and coffee tables.

Hi Renae, The other lights you mention will be behind you when working at the island, the pendants will throw shadow lines all around the room and not good to work with. They are lovely and as suggested would work over your table for softer light, but you must go with what you want, cheers

Definitely the black. If you use a pearl globe rather than clear you won't get the patterning.

I too prefer the look of the black pendants. They complement the black ravine kitchen. Will look stunning. Pls post photos when they are installed. Would love to see.

The black is amazing, though I'd worry about crazy patterns over your kitchen bench, and if they're real rattan, about keeping them dust and moisture free. Kitchens get steamy with cooking and dishwashers, so it may not be the greatest choice. Finally (sorry!) I also think they're quite busy to have more than one, I think it would be more spectacular as a single feature.

If you love this pendant, could you take one and put it over a corner armchair or similar in your lounge area?

Wow, Tilly, your kitchen look great-so sleek & elegant. I particularly like the details: how you offset your 3 pendants and the bookcase in island. Also, the dark cabinets act as a showcase. Love it.

I love the combos. The black are more formal and tie into the space well. But if you are going for a more homely family feel (boho beach vibe), then you can't go past the natural rattan. Either way they are great pendants and you will achieve a really cool effect. Personally I prefer the natural colour.
