Tracey, I live in Bendigo as well and scoured the furniture stores but eventually purchased online. I have found Zanui and West Elm very good service. And another poster mentioned she had good results with Interiors Online.

I agree about picking up tone from carpet. Is it a light grey?

To give it that modern country/vintage look, I agree with Julie -stick to neutrals/natural tones for cushions and concentrate on texture for interest rather colours (Textured cushions probably sit better/not slip so much on leather couch too) You can then bring in some of the blue if you wish with artwork etc.

If you have West Elm there, check their rugs please. Good choice.

I probably wouldn't go for completely white walls. A cream or ecru goes better with dark brown. I'd probably head in the direction of natural tones - get several and in different textures. They can look lush and designery. You could also consider a darker wall, say behind the couch, maybe in light yellow ochre. If you decide you'd love turquoise, I think the acqua tones work better with the dark - if you can get several that's even better.

the cushions you have purchased are lovely, I think adding one or two in maybe a more stronger pattern would tie it all together, a chunky throw would look gorgeous also, a floor lamp and large plant would really add to your room also.

Great start. I agree with Julie, keep your eyes peeled for a feature cushion that you really love. Perhaps a different shape to the others.... Like the rectangle one with a bit of colour in the image I posted earlier. You don't have to get everything in one hit. Now you have the basics you can build on it over time for a really homely feel.
