I was very glad to hear that there are people who like the fabric I have chosen for the sofa. Unfortunately there is a long waiting time 6-8 weeks. I would be more than happy to get some help placing the furniture as well as choosing the soft furnishing. The colour I have fell in love is teal but open for any recommendations. Leelee, thank you for your comments. The cabinet in the corner has been bugging me since we moved to the house. I'm so excited getting finally a new look to my livingroom that I wanted to try something different with my current furniture. the cabinet is no longer in the livingroom and I feel so much better. Regarding the painting, it needs to wait until the new furniture has arrived. I will take a photo and post it later. By the way, we are getting a new king size ensemble tomorrow and would like to get some help to refresh the look. Our old mattress has been a queen size, so need to get a new bedhead as well. I'm going to create a new post of it.

Two years later... We ended up purchasing a 3-seater for wall opposite fireplace, a 2-seater for under the highlight window (leaves a comfortable space to enter the room) and an armchair placed diagonally opposite the couches. I've fooled the advice to pull the furniture in off the walls a little. We have just updated the fireplace with the (professional) installation of an insert wood heater and (DIY) replacement of hearth and tiles/timber mantel to conceal the brick while meeting the safety specifications of the heater (required a much wider/deeper hearth than the existing brick one so we removed and replaced with a slab of honed granite, and the minimum height for breastplate/mantel shelf posed a few design limitations). TV mounted above fireplace to allow for better furniture placement. Not quite the picture I had settled on 2 years ago, but works with the style of updates we have made elsewhere. 2 sofas look great when you are needed extra seating for people but i really like the armchair /wingchair idea with a sofa. As you have chosen a modern take on deco i would look at a side table that encumpases that style but as said functionality is key. No good having one sofa if you have 5 guests. It sounds so beautiful so keep moving with your ideas and remember that sometimes ideas can change with different advise but you have to love it

I agree...maybe buy or make a couple of big floor cushions which are great for the baby and toddler years, and work with the couch you have for now? you could use black and white ones and tie them into similar coloured throw cushions on the couch.
