If you want the wall and floor tiles to be the hero in your bathroom I recommend you keep the vanity very simple. The white cabinet you have will be least obtrusive with a 'white' top. I love the elegance of stone and man-made stone is generally more durable. Check out Caesarstone Organic White or Frosty Carina. Although Frosty Carina has more pattern than Organic White, it's quite discrete so shouldn't compete with pattern on the tiles. If the tiles are charcoal or a dark brown/grey then either should work. Love to see a photograph when it's finished, whatever you decide.

Is your final photo of the vanity you already have? I also thought adding legs would take it back to the MCM you are after. Would be interesting to know how the silver drawer pull is attached. Not sure about painting it matte black as I thought timber furnishings were more prevalent then, but it's totally your choice. I hope you will post updates as you go. I just love mid-century.

The tiles will just mounted on the kicker of the vanity and then caulked at the bottom to stop water seeping under them. Shouldn’t be hard to remove. Just cut along the caulking first. They look like the match the rest of the skirting and shower. Are you retiling everything?

I have to choose vanity top for main bathroom. I am getting Bamboo benchtop in the kitchen and laundry area, laundry will not have a tap. I have seen Bamboo vanity tops and do like it, however I am not sure if it is suitable in bathroom which would be used by two young kids. Would like feedback from anyone who has used Bamboo for vanity top or come across it outside a showroom. Is it advisable? Thank you all in advance!
