Microwave location in new kitchen
Comments (17)Living in a small apartment with a single wall kitchen, our microwave is in the cupboard/pantry to the left of the sink. It's not ideal at all, since there are no powerpoints in the cupboard, we have to un-reel an extension cord and plug it into the wall every time we want to use it. It's also up quite high, and I ranked actual food pantry items more important to have at eye level. This is one thing I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for in future!!!...See MoreVoid over fridge?
Comments (37)To Nicole K..OOOOOOH That sounds really classy! Why didn't anybody come up with that earlier on? I don't drink...but just for the decorator touch, if I had that fridge and that space, I'd get the calssiest alcohol shelving and fill it with the most elegant bottles available......suppose the real thing would cost a mint...so I'd hunt for the bottles and fill them with the appropriately coloured liquid...food colouring dye and water ought to do it. Maybe just one real bottle....my brandy for the upset tum. What a good idea!...See MoreNeed advise on fridge placement whether in pantry or kitchen
Comments (8)What are the two fridges for? Who needs access to them? That will dictate what works best for you. The first thing I thought of was the same as Larkspur Lane Design. It can be useful to have one fridge outside the butlers pantry which is easily accessible for grabbing a quick drink or a snack. If placed at the outer edge of the kitchen other members of the household can easily help themselves without getting in the way of whoever is working in the kitchen. But you said "the question is about the main fridge as im happy for second to go inside butler". 'Main fridge' indicates that is where the main supplies for meal preparation are kept, so wouldn't that fridge go in the butlers pantry, and if not then what is the butlers pantry for? 'Second fridge' is unusual and while we can say what we might do if we had a second fridge, to give you advice we need to understand how two fridges are intended to work for your household. So the question comes back to what are your two fridges for and who needs access to them? That will dictate what works best for you. Editing to add, I see bigreader is getting at the same thing. "Think about the way you live." What works for one home doesn't necessarily work for another home. It's what works for you. If you can help us understand how you want your kitchen to work for the people who will be using it, then we can answer based on that....See MoreA Microwave , MiniFridge And Coffee Machine In Your Master WIR ?
