It's on the fridge! But where will the fridge go?
Comments (11)Hmmm, I initially had same idea as bigreader about fridge placement where microwave shelves are, but I doubt there's ample width for a fridge there. Then there's issue with fridge door opening into same area as that door that we are wondering about. What size is your fridge? It sounds like you are considering placing the fridge on the carpeting with the back in the dining/living space. Is that correct? It's generally not a good idea to place a fridge on carpet in case of leakage and subsequent damage to the carpet. Do you own the apartment/unit? If so, this may give you more options. If you were able to remove the bench/cabinet to the right of your stove and the overhead cabinets there, that could be enough space for a fridge. But you would lose food preparation and storage space. As has been suggested, the wall opposite the stove could accomodate more overhead cupboards. It would be helpful to know what that door is for, the size of your fridge, and if you are able to do renovation to the apartment....See MoreFtidge Place Fridge Placement
Comments (3)It is in good location as far as the triangle rule; however, you could have another short bench with drawer cabinet under (for storing drink glasses) on other side of fridge. That way, the kitchen doesn't end with the fridge, but a cabinet instead. We had this exact thing in our previous kitchen. It's handy to have glasses right where they are needed for cold drinks....See MoreFridge location
Comments (3)if the kitchen space is 6m x 4m what would you do with all that empty kitchen space?...there'll be lots of walking backwards and forwards to the fridge...is this a new plan or a renovation of an existing space? ...perhaps you could enlarge the laundry to create a combined laundry pantry including the fridge and make a smaller uncluttered kitchen? post your plans to invite specific suggestions...See MoreDon't know where to put my fridge and built in oven and microwave
Comments (5).I would always put fridge where it is accessible without getting into the main cooking zone and group oven and stove . Extend island to balance cooking zone, and reduce wasted space I would still delete the door to utility it really is wasting space and entering it via the hallway isn’t that big a deal anyway, for the compromise you are making and lost storage in the kitchen....See More- 6 years ago
