Comments (14)Hi Deanne, When you say you are doing the kitchen, does that mean you have to do the planning (design) and specifying of it also? I would have thought Storybook supplied a home with the (kitchen) plans included? If not, your builder will be able to guide you, however here are a couple of tips... 1. Choose your appliances early AND STICK WITH THEM. Often individual appliances have specific needs outside of standard eg power requirement (over 10amps), rangehood ducting direction and type, clearances to overhead cupboards, water to fridge etc. 2. Using the appliances, work out the layout (design) of the kitchen and where you want the cooking, cleaning, fridge etc. From there you need to work out power point locations for all appliances (many people forget the microwave) plus the everyday items like phone chargers, toaster, kettle etc. 3. Go to kitchen display showrooms such as Laminex. They have completed kitchens on display where you can understand the difference between a waterfall end (benchtop style), a shaker profile door (Hampton's style cabinet front) and play around with colours and finishes. 4. Put it all together in detail and you have created a specification! Re finding a builder, I agree with the above. Get a couple of names from Storybook as you don't need beginner mistakes, and go with the builder you guys are COMFORTABLE with. Price is only part of the journey. Comments (5)I ordered the model that has the shift control to navigate through the menu. I read too many negative comments about the touch control. Also, when playing with the touch control in the store, it seemed difficult and not very responsive. Will get to use my new ovens in a few months. I usually like to have the latest gadget but I think I made the right decision. All the other features of the NEFF I like....See MoreOven & dishwasher don’t fit!
Comments (3)should be quite straightforward for a cabinetmaker or carpenter or even the electrician who you'll need to install the oven but depends on the width of the rest of the cabinets next to the oven..but i would begin with the electrician to remove the old oven and ask their advice about installation of the new oven before doing anything else...See Morewatchedpoppy

6 years agothis is my present kitchen with stacked built in microwave above wall oven...perfect height for me to be able to look inside both ovens and also safely lift plates and baking dishes in and out onto the counter without bending my old knees...i based the height of installation on my line of sight (in my average shoes!!) being about mid height on the microwave (a little higher than the bottom of the wall cabinets at standard 150cm above the floor) so, check the sizes of your proposed ovens and specifically ask your cabinet maker to install them to suit the cook (my cook top is also off centred to create more space for using the mixer and food processor and the counters are 5cms deeper than standard so you should consult the cabinet maker and you can have the kitchen that suits you best)
