Hi Tracey, we are still waiting to have the final product installed. Because we wanted to match the colours in the splashback with the cabinetry there has been a fair bit of background work involved to calibrate the printer etc. I will post a photo once it's done.

You can either introduce an accent colour taking inspiration from your furnishings, artwork or even kitchen appliances. Or, opt to not introduce colour at all, choosing a stafford low iron glass splash back that is colour matched to your wall colour, and have one real splash back at all! If it were mine, I would like to maintain the moody-ness of a dark timber kitchen and black granite, and continue to granite up the wall to create a wet hub enclosing all my workspace with the same surface material. Install lighting to the underside of the overhead wall cabinets, and this by night will ooze sophistication.

Mirror splash backs would look lovely in a show home. Mirrors are only stunning when there sparkling clean. They would annoy me if they were constantly needing to be cleaned. I think you would be creating an on going chore for yourself, like Karen Mc, they would drive me crazy. Lol Mel N...that is exactly what I think about mirror splashbacks...they look great in the show-home kind of tidy homes we see on websites and magazines...but transfer to real life and one pile of mess becomes two piles, one pile of unwashed dishes becomes two etc....but on the positive side it would make cleaning up very rewarding - you clear away one pile and two piles go!!
