Flooring installation - where to put furniture

Getting flooring installed in pretty much the whole house except the kitchen and dining room.

The flooring company wants to get the whole thing done in one day. We are having vinyl planks and possibly carpet in the bedrooms.

So have to move all the furniture out of the way for one day! We don't have a garage just a carport and veranda.. The dining and kitchen wont hold all the furniture.

Just wondering what everyone has done in the past and if anyone has any advice, please fire away!

I should add that I have a taxi box already and called today to get another one, but they were going to charge me an additional $300 odd (for the month) because of delivery fee etc. So Im not doing that!

put the most easily weather damaged items in the kitchen and dining room and everything else will need to be stacked out of the way on the verandah and carport but make sure that you leave a pathway for floorcovering installers to be able to get in and out and, remember that whole house full of furniture are stacked in moving trucks so it will be a case of starting the day early the day before and stacking the furniture carefully with the biggest items first and then make sure that it's covered with sheets and plastic drop cloths (available at hardware shops) because it may be two or three days before you have enough time and energy to return everything

Great advice! The only other option I can think of is to price the cost to rent a small moving van for 48 hours.

Thank-you both for your input! I think I'm tossing up between putting the chairs in the nook or against the long wall. If chairs go in the nook, it's cosy and there's more walkway space as you said, Luke, for beanbags etc. However, what would I do with the 2m wall near the entrance? Would seating there be a bit odd? However having the screen in the nook would allow for a longer row of seating I think? So potentially more people could fit in, although those sitting near the door may have an obscure view of the screen. It seems like both options have pros & cons! We don't have anything that needs to go in, so to speak, although plenty of seating options and tables for drinks etc would be really great!

The CCTV solution is nice technological fix but why not avoid the inevitable issue of your box gutter failing and redesign the roof? Without having the plans, elevations and levels I would suggest that falling the roof away from the viewer in your image would allow you to collect the roof water on the (western??) side. There are ways to hide a gutter without hiding it inside your building and I personally think that one or two elegantly detailed downpipes can add to the quality of a building, why hide the obvious need to get water off a roof? Also, I would be very surprised if your architect doesn't already have a solution to this, it is a basic requirement of design.

The rearrangement of the furniture works much better. Instead of one large artwork above the TV, how about two tall narrow ones, each side of the TV in the large void space of wall. Perhaps a couple of interesting mirrors - this would help to add light. Just be aware of what they reflect before hanging!! Agree with the suggestion of a tall lamp in the corner and love the idea of a rug under the coffee table. I'm not a huge fan of masses of cushions, they usually just get thrown on the floor! But I love throws, a light coloured, patterned or textured throw on the couch, (something with the mint green of the ottomans would pull the look together), this would add interest and soften the dark furniture. Happy decorating!!

Yes actually it was a massive pain!
Had a lot of my furniture stored outside, I purchased this industrial plastic from bunnings and wrapped up a lot of my items. Furniture etc was under cover but wrapped it up just in case we got "sideways rain".
So a lot of large scale tetris manoeuvres!
I ended up going with another company and they did the bedroom on one day and the living areas of the other. That helped a lot!
