MB Design & Drafting, I have to contradict your comment about having only 1 floor waste, we have a large double shower with only 1 floor waste, ours is in the centre of our double shower, our tiles are black and by the time we get out of the shower the water on our shower floor is gone, I always clean the tiles and glass before leaving the shower, I leave the fan on while we dry and by the time we are dried our shower floor is almost dry, we have no trouble at all with only 1 floor waste.. Barbara, we have the same problem, which is not a problem at all, my husband likes his shower much hotter than me but we have our showers turned on to suit each other, we have a small seat at each end to sit on while we wash our hair and feet and each others backs.

Having helped my mother in law with her shower room (she has MS) and helping a friend who just broke her leg ... the bigger shower is a great decision, but I wouldn't build in a bench. down the track if she needs to sit to shower, she will probably need a shower chair with arms to lower herself up and down and to be able to move it around if someone is helping her shower. then anyone else showering can just take it out and enjoy the bigger shower!

It's a shame that the door slides towards the shower because the first thing you see is the toilet. Could there be any other place for it? I love your inspiration photo but the two examples you have shown are not as inspiring. I would try a few more options before you set your layout in stone. I like the idea of the white vanity with the wooden top and try to find the black and white basin. Our best eye level storage is a recessed cabinet with a decorative mirror beside it. I can't understand this obsession with storing all the things you want to use behind the mirror you also want to use. Love that idea of tiling the kick-board to match the floor. I have also put mirror on the kick-board for the same effect. Wall hung cabinets definitely give the appearance of more space but do you out of some storage. I dislike the idea of a wall of glass at the shower unless you are a fastidious house wife because after a few years of being subjected to soap scum they can become cloudy and that can be permanent as I recently discovered in a rental property. In a tiny room the area can look larger if your tiles are laid on the diagonal. If you are forced to keep the same layout would you consider a piece of furniture for the vanity? Good luck.
