love the idea of a sofa table at the back of the lounge with a pair of small lounge chairs and a coffee table but a view of the floorplan may make it easier to make suggestions...what are the dimensions of the living and dining rooms?

Hi Stef, You have lovely furniture, I was thinking that it would be better to open up the dining living space by rearranging the lounge so that it's up against the long wall and moved back towards the dining room.

The wall at the end could have a long cabinet or book cases or both, with a great piece of art. with the TV on the window side, wall mounted in between both windows so it can be pivoted both ways for viewing.

This would open up and enlarge the over all space and allow you to view the rest of the room and outside when sitting on the sofa, and vise versa when in the kitchen or dining you can talk and see anyone sitting on the sofa. cheers

based on the size of the rooms there should be space for the sofa to be away from the end wall (with extra seating and a wall of storage with the TV) with a narrow sofa table and single chair (matching carver chair for dining suite?)

Step, could you place the chair from your bedroom in this room and post a photo? So we can visualise how a similar chair would look in the space, and you can see what you think.

That chair is very lovely, but I think for this room, one which has higher back and a bit wider in the seat perhaps? And if you move it forward so it isn't so close to the lounge, it will look more like it's a seperate seating area. I realise you just did it for the photo. I like the console too. Did they have one like that but with drawers on bottom half? I'm wondering if you could use any extra storage. I think a larger rectangular rug will suit better. Have you seen any you like? What colours do you prefer...neutrals, a particular colour? What other colours have you used in your lounge area? Can pull that into this area perhaps, either in rug, artwork, some decoration for your sofa table/console.

That chair could certainly work, but it suits the room it's in so perfectly! I love everything in that photo as is - you have keen eye for detail. What a great rug.

Smokey blues and purples...so do you think you would be happy to pull out some purple in accent pieces, or blue? Do you already have cushions on that sofa? Colours?

Purple and yellow go well together. Wouldn't need to be much, just a hint.

I do too. I like them both. The black bentwood chair Julie posted would look great and would be comfy, esp with a throw or sheepskin on it.

Hi stef, would you try moving your wall mounted TV to the right so that it could pivot towards the lounge when sitting there, at other times have it flat, My program is old so doesn't have flat screen TV's so you will just have to imagine it cheers
