Hi Jen - I would definitely recommend doing it - I found that the key to successfully painting a window frame is in your prep and taping off. we spent a lot of time ensuring the tape was right on the edge etc. once we had finished taping off, I went to Bunnings and asked for a spray can paint suitable for repainting aluminium window frames. We came home and painted it with 1 spray can. when we peeled off the tape etc. it turned out really well. the paint has not scratched and you cannot tell that it has been painted. this was the first time that we had attempted to repaint a window frame and it turned out well providing you put the effort into masking and taping off correctly letting it dry before removing the tape and sliding the window

I am clearly in the minority, but its a no for me- the gorgeous brick walls, doorway, character all lost - I think that a lighter touch would have given a much more tasteful, interesting and less generic result and allowed some of the house’s heritage to peek through a modern update. if the owners are happy though, that is what matters, their house, not mine

Bec, if you have cutlery drawers in island, will they be on end closest to the dishwasher? I have stacked wall ovens with two deep drawers beneath, for baking tins and so forth. Immediately next to the ovens is another full-height cabinet, with pull-out drawers (just like pantry) where all other roasting and baking dishes and pans are stored, as well as produce such as onions and potatoes. I made the mistake of having all drawers, which means I have to stand on tippy toes to just barely reach whatever I’ve been able to toss in them. Would be better to have shelves up high instead.
