Kitchen splashback ideas please!
Comments (6)Personally I think the tiles will be to busy if you go dark tile and white grout. I am about to order a smoked mirror splash back for my new white and charcoal kitchen, but I am getting patterned stainless bench tops and have rimu floors and trims, I like you was in a real dilemma with my splash back, but had a very clear mind with everything else. All the best with your project....See MoreLooking for kitchen splashback or tile ideas
Comments (10)Cherry Pop - great looking tiles, however your decsion to use them as splashback will depend on their size and the height of the available area to tile. With such a strong pattern you don't want to trim a tile to fit the height. The ideal solution would be to install the window so that the distance between the underside of the window architrave, near the bottom of the window, and the installed benchtop is exactly one tile in height. This will need some careful measurement and juggling of trades to get it perfect. Or you could change your pool tile to be less of a feature such as this simple, white, square, contemporary mosaic. As it is smaller, and has no pattern then it doesn't matter if a row needs to be trimmed to fit in the available wall space. Comments (23)Hi Bonnie, What a beautiful kitchen. The overhead black glass doors look great. My thoughts are: Option 1, modern look: Black glass splashback to match the beautiful glass doors. I have used on my projects before, link below for your reference, and they work beautifully for a modern look and very easy to clean and maintain. https://www.houzz.com.au/hznb/photos/kitchen-design-monia-basso-architects-modern-kitchen-melbourne-phvw-vp~144827524 Option 2, industrial chic look: Stainless steel splashback to match benchtop. I have used on my projects before, link below for your reference, and they work very well for a industrial chic/or industrial modern look and, also, very easy to clean or maintain. https://www.houzz.com.au/hznb/photos/industrial-kitchen-monia-basso-architects-industrial-kitchen-melbourne-phvw-vp~144828526 My other thought is to keep the splashback height the same across the kitchen to align with the underside of the overhead cupboards, although you must check Australian Standards for minimum height for the area behind cooktop, this is a must for safety. All the best. I hope this helps. Monia Basso...See MoreLooking for kitchen splashback ideas
Comments (7)If he's on a tight budget , why not get a dozen Subway tiles in a colour he likes , and lay them horizontally around that kick up ? Cheap as chips , as colourful as you want , easy for a DIYer . And lets face it , if you are getting splashes above that level , you are probably doing something wrong -- 100mm should catch 90-odd % of the splatters . You are probably going to strike problems with the power points getting food and fat and steam in them too . And talking about colour , maybe get a jug and toaster in the same or complimentary colours -- we know England is grey , but that's just being ridiculous haha !...See More- 8 years ago
