I too thought Miller Mood was perfect choice, and my eyes detected the blue tinge in awnings and fascia. Funny how photos can't always capture the true colours. My next choice to sample would be Tranquil Retreat. Hope you find some winners in your shop today!

Do you have sample pot of Tranquil Retreat so can compare in different lighting? The Miller Mood does look quite pale/pastel and unsure how it will be over large area. What do you think, harts_emmy?

It's interesting to see the similar colours selected to go with your two colour possibilities.

I recently read somewhere that the better way to determine if a particular colour will suit your application is to paint a section of the wall with two coats and then observe it in various lighting. This way was deemed better than the method of painting a piece of board or cardboard. The more I think about it, I wonder if trying that with the Miller Mood might help you decide, harts_emmy? It was your first choice and maybe it would help to see it actually painted on a section of your house. The small wall with the screened door where the painted board was leaned against, perhaps?

What a lovely house, a paint update will look really exciting! Contrary to all the colours you've chosen, I'd go instead with a warm grey (hint of taupe in it). It will always be classic, would look amazing with fresh white window frames and dark charcoal eaves (e.g. Dulux Monument). Cue my favourite colour: Dulux Dieskau. I just think there's quite a large area of uninterrupted rendered wall so I'd worry that if you go too bluish, it could look to be verging on pastel and a gingerbread house type effect. My brother painted Tranquil Retreat on his rendered Victorian and it has come up more blue than he'd thought (actually he was also considering Milton Moon). But of course, test paint a few walls sections with different aspects and check during the day from different angles (and even across the road)!! Actually there's another photo and paint colour I love that reminded me of this, I'll try and track it down.

This is it and it's painted Dulux Ghosting. Otherwise Grey Pebble is lovely too with a sharp Lexicon Quarter white trims and monument eaves.

oh and I meant to add that I wouldn't let the shed dictate the colour you go with for the house - you could always easily re-paint that if it bothered you (plus I don't like cream!). It'd look great painted a dark like Monument with white trims - it would visually recede a bit too.

I'm with Sarah above about the shed and my vote is for the Miller Mood because you need the stronger colours for exterior. In the bright sunlight they look paler. The "Ghosting" is absolutely lovely but it doesn't have the terra cotta tiles with it and the blue will set them off.

harts_enemy have you got any pictures of your painted house. I also have an orange terracotta roof and painting will be painting house in 4 weeks time.
