So far....my new house :) FRONT VIEW - A bit of advice needed please..
Comments (49)Hi there, re the fence my choice would be the same colour as house with either same colour slats or your window surfmist both would look classic, definately NO timber here. Because you are on a corner block I'd be planting a hedge inside the fence with something like Murraya asap, Jim Henson could advise. I would consider Pleaching them up to where the slats start so that you could under plant with something pretty, I'd also consider adding garden lights as per attached photo. plus I would also consider putting "Eye lid" down lights on the exterior posts of the fence, this could add great street appeal for your wonderful very large house (is your whole family moving in. The garage, either same as wall colour or Monument is my choice. cheers,...See MoreLooking for advice/options/opinions on new home colour!
Comments (11)It's a little hard to judge without seeing more of the home and garden. However, a dark grey or charcoal would visually recede the home and allow the garden and additional plants to 'pop'. Instead of painting your home a light colour, which attracts attention, a darker colour will allow other aspects of the home to shine. Are the doors red cedar? I'd leave them natural but coat or stain them to bring out the wood features. Add a couple of large pots with trees, such as a Lilli Pilli or Plane Trees depending on space, so the foliage will frame the doors....See MoreExterior House Colour Advice Please
Comments (7)I think dulux 'self destruct' would look beautiful and blend well with your brickwork, also for garage door, we had exterior blinds with a scallop, I cut the scallop off and painted them to match the house and they look great and more modern , used exterior paint and roller, easy and fab update....See MoreHELP: Needing advice to alter front of new home?
Comments (5)I wonder if the drive is purposely supposed to be darker -- the water meter or whatever that is in that circular concrete ring is a lot lighter ? The garage door is a shocker -- it just looks like a whole wall of nothing . I like the warmth of timber , and with the wall colours , I'd go a cedar or similar slightly redder coloured wood , as opposed to a honey gold tone . In fact , I think the entrance door is that tone , but I can't be sure ? Failing that idea of a timber door ( it won't be cheap , but not super expensive either , and I think good value , but its still $$$ ) then paint will help . I personally would go for red , orange or yellow tones , but as robandlyn says , charcoal would also suit . The other thing I'd be tempted to do is painting those barge boards around the top , probably in charcoal . There's not too much wrong with the white , except it is too close colour wise and attitude wise , to the wall sandy beige . And yes , knock yourselves out with gardens -- white stone , bark , cactus , lancewood , red leaves , green leaves , grasses , tall and slim , low and wide , just maybe not roses . . . . . . . . . ....See Moregirlguides
