Comments (15)Thank you so much for all the input. I love seeing all the photos and the applied features in the room! I am going for a mirror which will make the room bigger and a small bench stool covered in fabric that allows guest to put their bags on..etc without being in the way. I will get a nice chair for the desk and will put a couple of small floating shelves above the desk to provide an area to put a few books and nice displays / photos. I am definitely looking at artwork for above the bed head too. I will send photos when I have found mirror...etc Thanks!!...See MoreBedroom window furnishings
Comments (11)Hello Karly, It looks like you may be planning a change in wall colour - I would go ahead and do this then think about the curtains. You may be able to have a bolder colour which helps have a dramatic feel or go lighter - Resene have a good range of whites which can be done in double or triple strength. Check out his link as it gives you a range of looks using neutrals.http://www.resene.co.nz/ebooks/HabitatPlus06/index.html?page=1 The latest Resene habitat on line home of the week shows some interesting options if you are interested in blue / green/ grey hues such as 'Inside Back' http// habitatbyresene.co.nz/lee-kristin-modern-barn-life Curtains should hang full height and puddle a little on the floor but not too long as you have an access way with the door and need to safely walk past the other window. Pelmets are unnecessary and won't give the softness required but an inverted pleat heading gives a tailored finish with the same effect. Look at a natural linen look sheers as real linen tends to rot and is more expensive. You are better with a cheaper polyester linen look as it is more durable - and less likely to shrink if washed. Traditional curtains are more likely to date depending on the pattern. All the best....See MoreShould I put my builtin robe near the bedroom door?
Comments (12)I would build a new floor to ceiling robe where the existing robe is, extending it across to the door frame and building storage across the top of the doorway to the same depth 600 as the robe, this will give great hanging space and privacy from the living room. I would then add draws approx 450 deep facing the bed, this will give more floor space, I would have a full height wall on the entrance side of the drawers to give privacy to this space which could have a TV or shelves or artwork above these drawers. By using drawers and not full height robes it will make the bedroom feel bigger while adding extra storage. cheers...See MoreHow can I make my tiny master bedroom work?
Comments (11)I'd break it up by doing a feature wall behind the headboard , as siriuskey says , but I wouldn't go dark . Without knowing your tastes , how about wallpaper with oversized green and yellow leafy plants -- bright and cheerful and modern . If your style is more traditional , maybe burgundy with gold scrolls , or burnt orange and cream vertical stripes , or pink Playboy bunny ears ( see , I might know your taste haha ) . And to double down , add a large abstract painting in different but complimentary colours , trowelled on in places or effect . Then a plain but complimentary duvet ( dooner ) cover . The focus will be on the walls , not the space ....See More- 7 years ago
