What colour should I paint my bedroom walls?
Comments (11)Hi evas1, We are loving teal at the moment too! However once you find another colour, you will want to switch up the paint. This is why we are suggesting you go neutral with the walls (Dulux White exchange half) and accessorising with colour- making it interchangeable as seasons/trends go by. Check out how we style teal and blue! Throws, cushions, velvet bedheads, pillows, bedside lamps, artwork & ottomans are a great way to pack colour into the room....See MoreShould I change study back to bedroom to sell house?
Comments (15)Thanks everyone, looks like a popular topic with different viewpoints. In this area ( a country town), though it's a 3 bedroom house, prospective buyers are most likely families who will want to visualise three bedrooms. The lounge and dining area are an L-shape and when I bought the house, they had a study over in the dog leg part. I thought that worked really well and clearly would have been okay to put a dining table in there. The kitchen is large and has a table and chairs there, so either way, I think I'll be okay. Since sitting out in the main room, I actually enjoy this more! I often felt shut away in the study, so I think I'll set it up as a bedroom. I think perspective is incredibly important. I know seeing houses that are empty are so confusing (to me) and seeing furniture in them does help. Lots of food for thought!...See MoreBedroom window furnishings
Comments (11)Hello Karly, It looks like you may be planning a change in wall colour - I would go ahead and do this then think about the curtains. You may be able to have a bolder colour which helps have a dramatic feel or go lighter - Resene have a good range of whites which can be done in double or triple strength. Check out his link as it gives you a range of looks using neutrals.http://www.resene.co.nz/ebooks/HabitatPlus06/index.html?page=1 The latest Resene habitat on line home of the week shows some interesting options if you are interested in blue / green/ grey hues such as 'Inside Back' http// habitatbyresene.co.nz/lee-kristin-modern-barn-life Curtains should hang full height and puddle a little on the floor but not too long as you have an access way with the door and need to safely walk past the other window. Pelmets are unnecessary and won't give the softness required but an inverted pleat heading gives a tailored finish with the same effect. Look at a natural linen look sheers as real linen tends to rot and is more expensive. You are better with a cheaper polyester linen look as it is more durable - and less likely to shrink if washed. Traditional curtains are more likely to date depending on the pattern. All the best....See MoreShould I make it a study or bedroom?
Comments (10)Is it possible to put a floor plan here also to answer a few questions: who lives in home now? are there children and what ages or are they planned for? Do you ever have house guests staying or sleep overs? How many bedrooms are there? What hobbies do you or others living there have? All that kind on information would sway my answer... So not quite so easy really but very happy to assist. Cheers Margot PS where about are you because if it is a small city dwelling people might like study more than bedroom....but as someone said: put a robe and desk and a bed and both answered!!...See Morekiwimills
