How should I decorate these rooms? What colour combination should I use for curtains and accessories like rug, lamp shade, picture frames etc? This is a very tricky colour.
It would be a lot easier if color rendering on computer screens were consistent. It looks like the living room wall is eggplant? I couldn't begin to describe the color in the bedroom. Do you have a paint manufacturer and color number?
I would look in an analogous direction to those colors. They're not that tough to deal with, they're just sort of unusual. You can accent easily with both blues and reds because because that violet tone is sort of a blending of the two. Magenta also works nicely as do pinks or teals. You can also jump across and (very carefully) use some yellow too. Its common to see people mix a little bit of green as well (though I'm not fond of this). Any neutral (provided its on the warmer side of things or purely neutral like your black couches) will work, but I might only use black as an accent since you have so much of it and because the walls are dark already. You need contrast, something to make the space pop.
