Shower Bath or Walk In Shower

This renovation we completed in Roleystone, Western Australia had extremely high ceilings. It felt like a big room but lacked actual space so our client wanted to created something that felt spacious and looked long. The two key ideas is to have horizontal wall tiles for feeling of depth and the removal of the shower bath and create a stand alone walk in shower. I would love to hear feed back on whether or not you think you should have a bath or would a nice walk in shower be enough to not affect the resale value?

Comments (29)My walk in was well over a metre deep and width was a couple of metres to the wall. The glass screen was a metre and a bit so there was no splashing into the room. The shower came off the end wall same as the pic however it was one of those variable height showers on a rod, I have no doubt the shower in the pic will be splashing into the room which would drive me nuts. Mine looked great, so open, neat, big, except the floor hadn't been layed properly so instead of the water going toward the drain under the shower head it went all over the bathroom, nearly 3 metres out right down to the loo creating a massive puddle in front of the vanity as well. Getting it sorted with the builder was nightmare I eventually gave up and ended up having a low barrier installed from glass to wall. Comments (3)Hi Kate Here is my other bathroom 1000x1000 here is a 250mm floating ledge (not sure if you can float 250mm out from a single internal brick wall but it could also be non floating) So its just too small with only 750mm standing room left? When you say "Screen should be 1200 without ledge. Ledge say 250-300 brings your shower head out further adding to dimension of spray." Are you saying then i would need 1200+250 = 1450 for a walk in shower with 250 ledge? Would need an aluminum window watertight. at this stage we already have a double hung 562mm wide aluminium window already made we intend to slot in. It would start right next to the end of the 1000mm from that corner, Its aluminium but given double hung as parts sliding up and down its probably not watertight....See More- 7 years ago
