Do all 10 chairs need to be at table all the time or can it be 8 chairs and 2 you bring over from somewhere else for large sit downs? DIAL UP YOUR CHAIR sizes to be proportional to table so, as to not look like child size chairs. Restoration Hardware furniture is over sized and generous proportions compared to many other retail sellers. Just any chair could be easily dwarfed by the RH table and look tiny. We've found a super easy way to make great soup in the winter is to just buy one of those preroasted chickens from Coles/Woolies and strip off the meat to chuck the bones in the pot. Then we usually add an onion, celery, potato, tomatoes, carrots and corn and after a few hours, it's quite tastey. Then we add back in some of the chicken meat and maybe some pasta noodles. Italian herbs and salt to taste

What colour extension table are you interested in what type of style Just noticed your couches are are dark brown and the dark floor closes up your space A bit hard to suggest chairs as I can't see what theme or style your house is to match what theme are you looking to achieve I would prob by a white gloss table and have either off chairs or light grey fabric chairs and buy a light grey couch Not sure of your budget but The brown couch you already have makes your place feel small and clashes with your floorboards My suggestion would be to get a new couch and dining table to match would make that space feel revived and fresh it's hard to match a table to that space with that brown couch

I like it turned that way & yes I can see you like colour too! Nice! I'm confused about about the old dining room space, is it behind the shelves still? Is this using your 8 seater which I thought you wanted to be separate? This way though is a very practical use of space especially if you have room to move it to the right when required. You may want to consider whether the microwave is better in the kitchen triangle either under the island bench (bending down to use) or beside fridge above bench. Another way is to build up one end of the island to house it there just for the safe handling of hot dishes near to a serving bench.
