Feedback on layout
Comments (5)Hi Bella, you have lot of deciding to do, would it be better for you not to have to add extra width and the cost of doing this?, if you could find a suitable solution without. For me I think the laundry would be best moved to back up against the existing ground floor bathroom as there's already plumbing in that position, also remove the study upstairs, now the back end of your house is available as open plan kitchen dining living. The kitchen placed along the right hand wall next to the new laundry as once again Plumbing already in the area, saves money. Re table as against island bench is really your personal preference, except if you need the island for extra storage If you had a sit up to island perhaps a table next to the kitchen and then the living area next to the deck. Very exciting times, good luck...See MoreLooking for feedback on floor plan.
Comments (18)great, has the plumbing already been installed as there could be some other options but it's always good to have external access to a place to walk in with dirty shoes, to have an air lock to save letting out all your heat and have outside access to the toilet through the rear or front entries but hope you notice that this is at the expense of the original built in shelves in the family room and increases the family room deck to allow for the doorways to the rear mudroom (and bonus external sliding door off the study) btw i've also enlarged the south entry foyer to allow for enough space to walk through with the door open and for several people to stand there at once and strongly suggest you consider sliding cavity doors (full height?) to separate the front entry from family room and family room from bedrooms to zone sound and heating..should be a gorgeous house...See MoreWould love some feedback on these kitchen layouts
Comments (58)Thank you siriuskey :) The location is metro Adelaide so very hot summers and cool winters. Plans are for timber frame wall and roof construction, rendered hebel panels for all external walls and colourbond custom orb roofing. Party wall construction with 25mm gyprock shaft liner panels. Laminate timber flooring for living areas, carpet to bedrooms, tiles to wet areas, stone bench tops. Exposed aggregate concrete driveway & front footpath, grey concrete/paving to side path & pergola area. The market for these homes is predominantly downsizers, first home buyers and possibly single/separated parents with young children who do not want a large block of land. Basically nicely completed traditional/modern homes with above average finishes but not too high end....See MoreLooking for feedback on kitchen layout
Comments (21)Thanks oklouise, your advice is helpful as always! Great idea witg the microwave, cheers. We initially planned to have the microwave stacked, however with a double oven it would place to microwave too high. I'm not too keen on the kids lifting hot things out above head height. What is your thinking with moving the position of the study nook?...See MoreKLA
