How do I link this area of my garden to the rest?
Comments (7)To me the plants look as though they may be a mixture of New Zealand flax and native Dianellas. They do look ratty. The garden bed, especially at the lower end is too narrow - this is one reason you are having trouble with it. It is hard to get water to stay there - it will probably all run off. What about a hedge coming down the line of the bed? Many hedges don't need to be regularly clipped, especially many of the conical shaped lily pillies. But the bottom area isn't wide enough for these so you would need to use a different plant in the lower section. Like a Japanese Box for instance which would need clipping. They are both green and tough. There are instances where there are hedges used of different heights, and this could be one of those instances. Your last picture shows a garden that is well cared for and looks good. I have day lilies in my garden that I regard as weeds - I cant get rid of them they are so tenacious. I wouldn't recommend planting them. Whatever you choose, you need to integrate this choice with the style that you have in your bottom photo, so that there is continuity. Then it will come together. Comments (12)Both ideas are great. I never store my shoes in bedroom wardrobes. I have an inbuilt wardrobe in the laundry and two sections are for shoe storage. As soon as everyone comes home the shoes are taken off and left in the laundry so they can aerate and then they get put away in their clear plastic labelled boxes or the hanging shoe shelves (for everyday shoes eg sneakers, work shoes etc.)...See MoreSpace under stairs - a makeover
Comments (2)As a parent, I think this is fantastic - especially the computer area being in an 'open space' - according to cyber safety experts one of the most important things caring parents can do is make a family rule about no devices in bedrooms....See MoreWhat can I do with this space under the staircase?
Comments (1)Hi Michelle, I will just presume that this is an interior staircase - of which there are multiple options to build out with shelving, wine racks, or conceal into hidden storage. Have a look through some of our previous jobs to get an idea of how we treat this void space. Best of luck!...See MoreCheryl R
