Small courtyard landscape design
Comments (5)Your aspect and site preparation plus soil quality will have a big bearing on your garden success along with good planning & advice from garden experts. There are quite a few stories on subtropical gardens & this one is about [Balinese style gardens[(https://www.houzz.com.au/magazine/so-your-garden-style-is-balinese-stsetivw-vs~28063813). If you read it there will be links to other similar stories that you can save and find the right plants and a design to suit your space. If you stagger the deck or paved surface the space has more interest and pockets to plant feature/colourful plants. Agree with Sian about finding the water feature first to start with & maybe a watering system to keep it all lush. Do you have any mature neighbouring gardens to borrow backdrop, shade and height for your space? Plan it out first and Good Luck!...See MoreFront courtyard ideas please
Comments (4)Hi Chris, yes garden 4 would look stunning and compliment your house beautifully, the magnolia’s have an upright rounded look, I have them in my garden and they are gorgeous , I have both little gem and teddy bear, little gem seems to be hardier, have you thought of a small gabian wall maybe incorporating a seat with rock colour similar to the house, or Corten steel that ages beautifully , a stacked stone again in colours of the house could look great....See MoreLooking for design ideas for a small ugly courtyard!
Comments (11)I'd take a different path . You say you are on a budget , but then you want possibly the most expensive brand of barbie ( yes , they are good , but they are good because they are portable . . . . . ) and getting in a builder to build in furniture . Personally , I hate the mushroom trim -- see how much better the charcoal screens look ! So get 4 litres of charcoal , and a brush . Get a $300 4 burner stainless steel if you can , barbeque , preferably with a lid . Or even a $600 one with side burners ( put pots on them ) and a rotisserie . Go to K Mart or Bunnings and buy attractive table and chairs ( similar to in the pics -- I assume that was previous owners ? You can move them round , stack them up , more versatile . Get colourful outdoor cushions and maybe a big colourful glazed pot with plants to suit . Go with your favourite colour or two . Your concept would be double the price , a bit better in some respects but not so in others , but at least you have another idea ....See MoreIdeas for front courtyard
