Comments (5)Greys and charcoals coming in, forget creams and very pale colours. Textures seem to be the next big thing inside and out. Maybe a mid to dark grey with stone that is a mixture of grey and white for the front portico pillars. Could be stacks tone, stone veneer or tiles that look like stone. Wouldn't go anywhere near timber Windows. They warp, peel, stick together after painting/varnishing and are a maintenance nightmare. Every decade or so they come into fashion, people discover all the problems again and they go out. There is a reason for the popularity of aluminium ones....See MoreSUGGESTIONS TO MODERNIZE/RE-HAUL DRAB 70'S FRONT FACADE/HOME
Comments (17)Do a google image search of "nuts and berries architecture", "sevitt and Pettit", and perhaps "Sydney school architecture". Comments (6)what an unusual looking house..would love to see the internal floor plans...my suggestions would be to keep the colours simple with Lexicon quarter for all painted walls (including the bricks?) black fascias and barge boards, dark grey gutters, black front door, white windows and try painting the striped blind and roof over the upstairs balcony in a deep grey, consider having wide steps across the front instead of sideways and lose the central garden bed and the untidy tall palm and consider new landscaping...See MoreSuggestions to improve this facade
Comments (29)The larger window and taller garage opening both look good , and give a better balance IMO . The left side column didn't help , except arguably balanced the look , but you already know my views haha -- the distance between that right hand column and the wall looks fairly tight to me -- personally , I'd want at least a metre between the inside of the column and the wall , preferably 1.2 metres . Just one other suggestion -- I'd look at extending the small veranda part over the entrance door , and the 2 columns there , maybe 40-50cm forward , and add a bit of interest ? It would be relatively cheap to do , as the shape is already there , just add 1 more small truss and a bit more colourbond , and it breaks the roof line but also that front vista ? Good bang for buck IMO ! Just a thought ....See More- 7 years ago
