SUGGESTIONS TO MODERNIZE/RE-HAUL DRAB 70'S FRONT FACADE/HOME
Comments (17)Do a google image search of "nuts and berries architecture", "sevitt and Pettit", and perhaps "Sydney school architecture". Your house has been inspired by those styles/movements from late 60 and 70s Australian architecture and you should be able to find images of sensitive renovations that inspire you....See MoreExterior colour and facade update advice
Comments (10)Maybe paint facials white and put some white cladding in front gable so eye drawn to that not windows not a blue tinged white eg not dulux lexicon but warm white to go with cream blinds eg natural or polar white or grand piano 1/4 strength would also go nicely with woodland Grey and jasper - cb basalt also goes nice with woodland Grey maybe go 1/2 strength on walls as it’s a nice neutral black/Greywhixh would detract from purple tinge...See MoreSuggestions for our facade
Comments (3)Hi LYW There are a couple of detail items that draw your eye which you can add to the Metro either yourself or with the builder... The colour is the first and most obvious thing.... use the same colours eg light garage door, light window frames etc... keep the weather boards and paint the gutters and fascia white/light. Also if you look closely you will see a corbel around the garage and window frames. this is made from foam in most cases and is done very cheaply then textured over. You can do it retro or in conjunction with your builder if they are flexible. You could also run a corbel horizontally across the weatherboard area and do the bottom half in a render (texture coat) finish in a coffee colour with white weatherboards above... Finally, I would ask the builder how much extra to put in a gable over eg the entry. The gable is the key for this kind of style as you are introducing a light colour /relief into the dark of the roof. Cheers...See Moreany suggestions on what colour to paint the facade?
Comments (1)After the bricks are refreshed, I suggest keeping it white. I would concentrate on colour in the landscaping. Great looking home....See More- 8 years ago
