Modern furniture and accessories with Queen Anne antique lounge ?
Comments (15)If you love it you should keep it. Off white or similar plain fabric sounds great. I would use the chairs as accent pieces in separate rooms and pair the couch with modern/mid century chairs that have clean lines and legs to give a sense of space underneath them. These could be a different accent colour or work back with the same tones as the couch depending on other pieces. You could stain the legs of these to work with the wood tones on your couch. Good luck would love to see the finished room....See MoreAdvice for choosing wood furniture to go with timber floor

I love white curtains in a room, they really add freshness. For a lounge room though I would use a sheer fabric that is more structured and heavier than a normal sheer - if that makes sense. If you use a double track you could then put a thermal lining behind the sheer for privacy at night or for keeping the sun/heat out. It will also keep warmth in in winter. I take it your artwork is in red and black and assume your lounge is black? I'm thinking green would be a good colour to introduce into your room. Post photos when your furniture arrives and we can take it further from there if you like....See Morefurniture doesn't match
Comments (10)^^ Chalk paint will get the job done. If you're comfortable with DIY then mix up your own, or if not, it's worth going to a specialist store and getting some advice, even just to build your confidence. There are lots of online tutorials for chalk paint as well, so jump on youtube first so you know what you're dealing with. That brick wall could look really great painted, but maybe even better with some panelling over the top....See MoreWhat colour paint works with dark furniture?
Comments (2)It might sound crazy, but consider charcoal on the walls behind the green sofa - both the wall behind it and immediately adjacent wall too. The strange thing with dark wall colours is that dark furniture visually melts into it rather than your home looking a bit like a museum/gallery space with lime white. If you then place some modern artwork above the sofa it will look amazing against charcoal. To balance the dark walls, just be sure that on the opposite side of the room have some low dark furniture (like armchairs, or dark timber cabinet, etc). Here's a nice example of grey/charcoal 'absorbing' darker furniture And another with more traditional pieces; Hope that helps as an unusual option!...See Morek4thleen
