Is it possible that there are floorboards under the carpet that can be polished? This would be ideal. Otherwise, as much as I love my bedroom floorboards, I think you should stick with carpet. You’ll never match the hallway exactly so it will always look a bit odd.

There’s no nail holes so it’s a floating floor of some type. Impossible to tell if it’s engineered wood or bamboo or vinyl. Take the picture to your local flooring shop and they’ll be able to show you something similar.

Thanks for your reply, yes I have two cars to park in this space. I was told today to try to paint the garage and then add the Decorative colour Flake and that will be nice, cut cost and can be repeated in the future in case more cracks appears, so do you think that works?
