Solar panels work better on light coloured roofs

the blue of the roof now looks good- so does the large planter at the front door

perhaps go with blue- grey for posts and have the rest white as the window frames are already white - a blue front door might be nice too

paint the fence the same blue-grey, and add all the plants you can

(what is the veranda floor made of? can it be painted too?)

your home will 'snuggle in' to the new garden and you won't even see the bricks!!

Yes go monument!and if you go for some lime acacias out the front (tall weeping or the low bush)it would brighten up you whole look.Also adding strappy green plants that bulk up would give it a bit more of a clean look.
If you don't want to go monument on roof go a light grey and tie in with a couple of tall light grey planters on either side of your door.
Pleas please please!find someone with a jigsaw and cut the tops off your pickets to give a cleaner look before you paint them.
I'm stating the obvious but those security screens are pretty overwhelming,can you just have them on windows that can be opened,it might not look so busy out the front.

Actually now that I think about it, it's the security screens that are really bothering me, I might focus on these instead. And I will definitely cut the tops off the fences - I have a lot more on the other side so will do those too. If I kept the roof blue do you think I could still paint the fence monument? I love your greenery ideas too.

And Juliahocking - thank you for those pictures. I really like the pic of the house with red bricks, blue roof and monument/dark blue grey incorporated - I think I might try that.
