We have four farmhouse style sinks in two different houses, and all present the same problem. It doesn't have anything to do with the material as two sinks are concrete, one stainless steel, and one composite stone. With the two kitchen sinks it's very frustrating spraying out the food particles from corner to corner. Food particles go from one side to the other, and it's very difficult to corral them to the drain. The two concrete bathroom sinks don't have enough slope, so when shaving and brushing teeth, the water and material flow to the opposite side of the sink. It's annoying to wash a 3' wide sink every time it's used. And gross if the sink isn't cleaned from side to side after every use. As a compromise, we're installing a farmhouse concrete bathroom sink with two drains and more slope. As I evaluate many things in life, a, farmhouse sink is a solutions looking for problem.

Your choice should be determined by how high the bowl is above the vanity to ensure adequate clearance between the outlet and the bowl so you can wash your hands. Is the bowl recessed into the vanity or sitting on top of the vanity bench? Always think of the practicalities before aesthetics as no matter how beautiful it is, if it is mismatched, too high, or too low for your vanity basin you will hate it. While you have a lovely new kitchen it is not particularly large with the amount of bench space. The position you have suggested is very prominent. I think the position is going to be more of a nuisance and an eyesore. If your kitchen had twice the amount of bench space I would say yes, but I would rather have a more flexible bench area, than a second sink in a kitchen the size of yours. If you ever have two people working in the kitchen your second sink will limit their work area options. Save your money and put it towards a plumbed fridge with a cold water dispenser. Hi Karen, In addition to Dr Retro comments, not being able to stand directly in front of the sink and having to stand at angle to use the sink then twist to put clean dishes in the drainage area, I could see that leading to strains on your back and hips. Even with a dishwasher, if you cook (I’ve known people to have just show kitchens) the sink still get used frequently, and functionality is important which is why I’ve not and don’t think I ever would specify a corner sink like that.
