Hi Jacaroo Bunny, I would start by choosing a new floor tile or vinyl plank (possibly less expensive) and then select a wall paint colour that coordinates with your cupboard paint, floor tile and bench top laminate. If they're all completely neutral it might be worth considering a splash of colour on the walls, such as a pale, warm yellow or cool blue. I personally really like Porter's Paints Limoncello (yellow) and Attic (blue). To give the room more of a refresh perhaps you could consider painting the doors, architraves, skirts and ceiling in varying lustres of the same paint colour you used for the cupboards. I'd also remove the window treatments and replace with simple roller blinds - but only if you need them - for sun protection or privacy. Replace the wall shelf with a floating IKEA Lack shelf in white (again, colour permitting), and add a cute wicker laundry hamper in the corner. It's tough to offer advice re: room unseen, budget and design aesthetic unknown, but best of luck anyway. :)

I've just been looking at your colours, I think the Dulux Dieskau would work the best with the other colours you have to work with, choosing colours is such a personal thing and I know it can be really hard to choose and hope you make the correct choice. Oskuee is right, a paint job can look terrible half way through so you need to make sure you finish to get the proper look of colour. But the biggest thing to remember is it's only paint and it's the cheapest thing to change so if your not happy with the colour you choose you can always try something else. Happy redecorating :)

The front of the house face south. The colour that appeal to me is from light grey/greige to white. I am not into dark colours. My issue is that my fascia is surfmist colorbond in colour and i have white windows. In an ideal situation, I would have loved for my fascia to be white too. Colour is a whole-of-house thing ie it begins at your letterbox and ends at the back fence! When I work with clients I assess their personal colour type and make recommendations from there. Often people will add just one colour eg red, as an accent and use it throughout the home...red pots at the front door, splashback, cushions, throw rug on the bed etc. Personally I prefer to use two colours to spice up a neutral scheme. They may be complementary eg red/green or analogous eg green and blue. The trick is alternating which is the more used colour in different rooms. Taubmans have a formula of 60/30/10 - the bright, intense accent colours should not make up more than 10% of your scheme. Never go 50/50 it always looks out of whack. Pick two colours that you both like, and find pictures on houzz as well as Pinterest for ideas.
