Studio Apartment Room Divider / Wall
Comments (10)Thanks for your thoughts fiona_ab & ccwhatmough I'm thinking the same thing as far as wooden slats being a great fit for the room, there's a real fine line between creating an open space, allowing light in and keeping a spacious feel to the room. Good point about the reflection in the wardrobe mirrors. There is no specific reason for there to be a 'movable' wall expect to give the option for the room to feel more spacious. At the moment I am thinking about dark wood shutter / louvres. Either one or two panels (if 2 then the second would slide back). I found an example on Pinterest I really like - and have photoshopped it as best I can into the space to see what it would look like - and I think it could really work. The other option is to have the wood white - but I think the dark wood would compliment the other furniture / wood in the apartment. Appreciate any thoughts!...See MoreHelp with room layouts and suggestions for better functionality
Comments (9)Hi, Based on the provided floorplan, the issue is that your rooms are long and quite narrow so this will present a bit of a challenge with furniture placement. When Selecting furniture I would suggest you choose sofas and armchairs that are sleek and have a small footprint. Make sure that the arms are narrow so they don't take up too much valuable space. The below sofa and armchair are a good example of what I'm referring to. The fire place in the Family Room takes up a lot of space in the centre of the only wall without windows, perhaps you would consider moving it into a corner? This would free up some space and provide some much needed circulation space. Otherwise this room is in danger of looking a little bit like a waiting room with sealing along one wall. If you like open plan and aren't worried about taking out walls, then there is an opportunity to open up the wall between the dining room, Living Room and Kitchen for a real Open Plan space, but this would involve redesigning the entire living space of the house. Not impossible but a bit messy. Hope this helped, MKG...See MoreBetter use of floor space
Comments (6)Looks great open with out the wall. Would you want to open kitchen to dining? Keep the opening opposite the bedroom doors, close off the other for more wall space. If you have three walls in living room, the furniture will be easily arranged. And if the kitchen/dining wall is opened then watching news while prepping veggies will be easy! Cheers. Comments (9)The floral chairs are wonderful. Replace the white lounge with two more single chairs or lounge in the same fabric/design as the grey lounge. Purchase a coffee table that is similar to your glass and wood side table. A coffee table with legs, not a box. If you mean by “carpet” a floor rug? Then look at floor rugs in the same grey as lounge. Replace the curtains with one curtain that pulls to the right, so you can open your sliding door without a bunch of curtains in the way. The colour of curtain at the moment matches your accent chairs....See Moregirlguides
