Preference – North-East or North-West courtyard

Hello there,
Could do with some help / feedback / suggestions please…
Currently working out a floorplan for a build.
Rear of house is facing North, which is great.
We are working out best location for rear patio dining and internal lounge room next to it – which area should be on the Eastern Side, and which should be on the West.
Current professional advice is saying to have the patio on the Eastern side, saying this is what is desirable – this allows the space to be more sheltered from the Hot Western Sun during our Australian summers. Current floorplan below.
Although I can see that point, I also like the idea of North-Western exposed patio to enjoy the daytime sun and evening sun when it is less than 32*C.
Yes, it could get hot/unbearable on hot Summer days on a North-West facing courtyard but does the benefit of Winter sun exposure and other average temperature days weigh up as a better option on the North West side– or is the North Eastern side, being sheltered from direct sun by the house, provide a better overall option.
What experience do people have with North-East or North-West courtyards...?
Which is the better option…
Look forward to reading people's opinion.
Cheers,
DTM.
