Need help with exterior colour scheme
Comments (11)Your welcome Mari, like I said you already have a good eye. I don't think you necessarily have to paver the whole drive either. I’d recommend doing driveway improvements after you’ve done the major stuff that might scuff up the existing driveway, like landscape contractor or fence guys with equipment and extra dirt or stone being scraped off of it. I was just thinking a skinny band of pavers to help out, maybe 3’ or however wide the covered walk is on the side next to the house. It looks like the existing drive is asphalt. You can just saw cut a nice straight edge and then install the pavers next to it. I also did the band across the end to help fix the cracked piece. You could have the asphalt resealed black to make it pop or since it looks like most of the sealer is worn off you could probably pressure wash and do a colored acrylic sealcoat. It might work but you’d have to do more research and ask some professionals in your area of Australia. I like the idea of a lighter color on the drive so it doesn’t get intensely hot on summer days. Here were a few of the color choices off this website I pulled up. Comments (4)HI, I think you cannot go wrong with rendering with the colours you have in mind. The roof would look just fine, do not worry. Maybe instead of a light grey, find a warm light grey, with a beige tone. Charcoal and white for all the trimming, windows white for ex and charcoal at bottom of the house as well as doors and some strategic spots. The pergola, should also be in these two tones I think. good luck. alex...See MoreExterior Colour Scheme help PLEASE!!
Comments (3)What about shale grey? It’s a lighter grey to windspray & basalt but in the gray range you like with the same light feel as surfmist? Be great from a solar passive/cooling effect in summer? :)...See MoreHelp with exterior colour scheme
Comments (15)Speaking of the gate, what do you think would be the best colour for the side gate we're putting here? It will be a double swing aluminium slat gate, and I'd imagined using timber-look slats because I love timber and we'll be using a lot of it inside the house. But now I'm not so sure whether it would look unbalanced, and what colour would work here. This is a battleaxe block so this gate will be the first thing you see as you're coming down the driveway. I'm planning to have a magnolia in a pot between the garage door and the gate. And thanks so much to everyone for the help, btw!...See Morechubbychicky
