Hi Kirsty, could you please advise the colour of your vanity and whether it is a custom made one and if not, could you let me know its name and where you bought it. Also, what is the colour of your floors tiles and where did you get them from. (I have come to the conclusion that charcoal/dark grey tile plus a much lighter grey tile plus white on some walls plus a timber vanity or timber accessories in bathroom , plus white (or close to it) below sink counter top is the way to go for a beautiful bathroom. The trick is figuring out exactly what proportion of each colour to use and where to put them for each particular layout.

Hi Sue, I love oklouise ‘s and JE C’s ideas, also your tiles are fab, I think you could love them, try adding some gorgeous items to the bathroom that will give it a really stylish look, could look fabulous

The first question -- you are asking about the bathroom ? Not the ensuite ? Just clarifying . And if it is the bathroom , what colour are the hall carpets ? If it was 'near' the lounge , looking at the laminate flooring , I'd prefer lighter flooring in the bathroom too , but right now I'm assuming it is the other end of the unit , and so I'd like to know about the immediate rooms surrounding it .

A fair comment Dreamer. I am still looking at putting a drain in but thinking i don't need to slope the tiling that i'll get put in. I know the regs state a particular drop for the tiles to provide a slope going to the drain BUT from what I can see the requirement for a drain is only mandatory if the room is upstairs or has the potential to damage adjacent properties. Putting a drain in is no issue having spoken to the plumber. Sloping the tiles is an issue if it gets to the point of having to cut the concrete slab to form a drop The plumber was saying I must slope the tiles to the drain but my research suggests that I don't for the reasons above and your link suggests likewise Thanks!!
