Help with layout of master bedroom/wir/ensuite
Comments (18)Love those ideas thanks Pazz. Thanks for your time on it. There is a window along the wall I have marked at 4m. However there are no windows along the wall marked 7mtr, as we are right up close to the neighbours. All natural light will only be from either end of the rooms (ensuite and other end) I like your ideas there and it's definitely a start. I wonder if there is a way to have light from the courtyard come through to the walk in robe and bedroom. I am imagining being able to see the courtyard from the bedroom but can't quite figure out how that could work? I had thought of having the walk in robe up the 4m end, but this would then limit any natural light coming in from that window. I do love what you have suggested with widening the room and doing away with the closed off lobby. Thanks again for taking time to look at this for me....See MoreKitchen Renovation and Master Ensuite Floorplan
Comments (17)"I didn't find that when we removed part of a rear wall wider than yours and then the sloping roof of metal or glass and large sliding doors will make great use of that wasted space and as mention much needed light back into the kitchen cheers" I didn't consider the sloped roof minimising structural impacts. I will get my builder to look into it as that will make use of that useless garden space, also integrating the outdoor living with indoors with nice stacker doors. The idea of moving WIR to bedroom 2 will surely make the Master an amazing room, however, I feel like we need to retain the upstairs retreat for energy savings. My thoughts are in the cold winter months, we spend time in the upstairs lounge (as heat rises) and in summer months, living rooms downstairs are used....See MoreHelp with master/ensuite plan
Comments (20)And the following, because space is critical I have thought that the small court on the western boundary off the kitchen could be included into the floorplan just using high windows? As OKL has previously mentioned possibly relocating the master suite which you responded that you were understandably wanting to keep costs down. It's still vital for you to get the best possible floorplan so that things flow. Without most dimensions my suggestion of a possible floorplan Changing the end bedroom and Rumpus rooms into a master suite, the kids bedrooms side by side and the rumpus off the bedrooms, The study opening off the kitchen family so you can over see them using computers and doing home work, plus its a lovely space to do anything that you would normally do on your computer. I also like the idea of seeing the fireplace when coming down into the house.so I would personally prefer keeping to to the left of the room which could help with better furniture layout...See MoreMaster bedroom/ensuite/WIR floor plan help!
Comments (14)One question i have with your design Oklouise is whether the sloped ceiling will look odd in bed 2? The house is an old queenslander and bed 2 was originally the lounge room, with two sets of french doors opening on to an enclosed veranda. We are opening up the front veranda but not the side one (because that would limit the floor space we have available to build in downstairs). The "reading/playroom" was kept separate to the bedroom because that space has a steep sloped ceiling and a set of french doors opening on to it so we thought it looked like a separate space. If we remove the french doors and knock down the wall, do you think the bedroom will feel strange? We would like to keep the set of french doors opening on to the verandah at the front of the room....See More3DA Design Drafting and 3D Visuals
