I have done lots of pondering and lots of wandering. Wearing out shoe leather looking at tiles, hopping in baths, sitting on toilets. I think I have found my tiles. It's funny to think I started off wanting carrara (or a version/copy thereof), then went to black and white, and now these. The colour really does vary depending on the angle and light. These photos were taken with my ipad, so not true to colour. They are an ash tone and throw grey, off white or a bone colour depending on lighting and the angle. I think they say "classic and elegant like a little black dress, a string of pearls and diamond studs." I hope they don't actually say, "i've turned into my mother and I'm playing it safe." I figure I can go wild with towels. Question is should I lay them horizontally or vertically? The feature tile will go up the side of my wall on top of the bath and be directly opposite as you walk in the door. I wonder if i should use the floor tile or the festure tile on the side of the bath? I am thinking a black tap on the vanity (not necessarily this tap), but chrome elsewhere? The U.K. Has a version of the showerhead with a black rim, if I could be guaranteed it would fit and work the same here I would be tempted to buy it. Black or chrome accessories (towel rails, soap holder etc)? All suggestions, viewpoints etc welcome.

Sounds like a fun project, and it's great you've had a think already! Exposed pipes aren't neccesarily an issue - it's more about the style/quality of the pipes that we see may be an issue. Just like Vy said, there are many very stylish wall hung options that use exposed pipes as a stylish feature. We're included some others below that may help to inspire! As the bathroom is small omitting the cabinets will provide a more spacious and minimalist appearance. Alternatively, you could go with a stand alone basin that hides the pipes: OR a wall hung cabinet that hides the pipes but doesn't take up lots of room. Either way, sounds like you've got great direction for where you're thinking to go! Good luck - we can't wait to see the end result!

I don't particularly like the sight line straight to the toilet. Don't forget towel hanging. I'm going to assume that triangular space to the right hand side is immovable? I'd also mirror the bedroom door to open against the Robe, and the robe door to open against the wall especially if you put doors on the cabinetry (otherwise you'll have to play door jenga there). Can the toilet go into the bath corner, and bath under the window, with a nice vanity for storage and layout space. And what wall treatment are you thinking for the curved wall, you won't get large tiles on it, will need to be fairly small or narrow ones to follow the curve. I'd square it up, the curve doesn't seem to reference anything else, and you'll gain some flat walls for hanging or full sized mirror etc (and be cheaper to build).

I spent so much time considering this for our bathroom reno and came to the conclusion that:- - If you have plenty of space and need lots of storage, go for a floor standing vanity. - If you don't have much space, select a wall hung vanity - as it will be easier to clean underneath in a small area and gives the illusion of more space.
