I agree. A real estate agent told me that no bathtub can devalue a house and make it difficult to sell. Unless of course your area is more for singles/couples. I am about to renovate my bathroom and I am keeping the bath and making the shower bigger. I need to sacrifice the size of the cabinet/hand basin but with so many unique storage ideas out there, I will still have sufficient room for a family's bathroom needs.

If you won't use it, then I would get rid of it. Otherwise, it just becomes something else that you will have to clean and, depending upon the dimensions, cleaning around the base of a free stranding bath can be a challenge. This may also allow you to have a separate enclosed toilet, double shower and/or double vanity (if you don't already have those), which may offer more practical benefits than an infrequently used bath. If necessary, possibly consider upgrading the bath in the main bathroom to a more luxurious size so that if you do feel like soaking in the tub, that option will still be available.

A shorter one may work better. 1500 I think is the next generic one down...? The spaces are more for ease of cleaning than personal aesthetics so a 1700 bath with 30mm gap at each end is a bit tight to say the least..... If you want a big bath go with a built in, that way theres no spots to collect dust and dead flies.... free standing ones do look good but they take more cleaning...

it's time for this bath to be retired back to the paddock...post a plan of the bathroom including measurements, size and location of doors and windows to invite suggestions for an upgrade
