Hello, we would like to do something to update the exterior of our tired 80s brick house. The bricks are a yellow/orange colour, and the trims are painted mission brown (of course!) They are retractable metal blinds, which we never use - they are always in the same position. I have looked at rendering/bagging/painting the brick because I really dislike the colour, but the majority of advice seems to be not to touch the brick because of the maintenance. I would love to hear other people's experiences? Any ideas that anyone has to improve the exterior, such as colours, awnings, brick treatment, ways to soften the exterior from all the angles) would be greatly appreciate. Ideas on landscaping would be great too, from trees/plants to paths to the letterbox! I am thinking of removing the three palm trees as well, as they are water starved and are making it harder for me to envisage the landscaping. Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated. We live in Brisbane, so please keep that in mind with colours, plants etc. Please help!
