need help for space and light in new one bedroom apartment
Comments (5)I agree, a unified floor will help with the feeling of a bigger, uninterrupted floor. I think the white on walls is fine, although I also think a soft but warmer tone might be suitable so the ambience is still warm and inviting. I can see an angled wall that appears lighter than the left of kitchen, I would hang a large mirror on this wall, to create a false room beyond, the angle will help reinforce this idea, and is a nice touch to a dining area, however informal. I would also take your lounge and try to position it facing your window. I assumes there's one in the far end we cannot see, the sofa could be away from the island back creating a walkway, and consider relocating your sideboard below it elsewhere. I can imagine it even along the back of the sofa as a console table, a lamp on top would create the perfect scenario for night reading and ambient light....See MoreHelp. Need advice on what style sofas to put in this space..
Comments (3)Hi Gioenne... We are empty nesters but have two dogs (one large) which is why there is no coffee table. I've ordered two small side tables from a local furniture maker which will have a modern feel but made from reclaimed wood.. We let our dogs on the furniture so it has to be durable... I'm leaning towards modern low sofas. We entertain a lot in summer......See MoreRather a UNIQUE space... I need help with some ideas!

However, I would recommend adding more colour and pattern--a large area rug, a coloured sofa with accent cushions, maybe a drapery valance... By adding important pieces with lots of character you'll have a balance between the wood features and the furnishings....See MoreDoes your house need more storage space? Would you hire storage space?
Comments (5)I hired a storage space (c 2,5 cubic m) when we were putting our house on the market. I needed to make the house look better, and I also needed to start the packing process. Because it was 20 km away, I thought long and hard about everything that went into that space, as compared to what I could donate, sell or trash. Amazing how much stuff is around, but not important at all. Let's just say that I got rid of more than I stored. And since we moved into our new house, I've eliminated another few car boot loads. My motto: if it isn't important enough to be in your house, in use or on display, it sure isn't important enough to spend money storing it....See More- 6 years ago
