sounds like a good use of space, you could install a pull out hotel clothes line, you know the one with the round fitting on one wall with a single pull out line which clips into a fitting on the other side. Attaching some photos the first is a bathroom that I would love to use to replace our existing ensuite (without replacing the window) which is as you enter the WC is behind the door to the left, right side is a nearly sunken bath with shower plus a large sliding window beside the bath, we think the architect hadn't allowed enough showering space so by adding the window gave extra width. Then we have a full width vanity and mirror on the third wall. The last should have a swimming pool style hand rail. Did you build your house, would love to see some more photos of the bathroom etc. cheers

Hi RE your relocation options, the plumbing is probably going to dictate what your design options really are. Apartment renovations are quite a bit different to normal reno works in that there are often a lot more restrictions as to what you can do. For example, in older buildings, the drain for the bath is often a smaller diameter pipe than the shower as it doesn't need the flow rate. This means that moving the shower to the bath results in long high pressure showers filling up the floor (so you definitely need a hob) because of poor drainage, particularly if you don't keep hair out of the drain. As the floor drain plumbing is often situated either within the slab or penetrates into the ceiling space below, it is not able to be changed without major works and cooperation of others. The water supply and the waste usually go back to a plumbing stack so your options also depend on the proximity to that. Many things can however be done, but the overall plan of the apartment needs to be looked at re stack/access to pipes/check pipe diameters. With a bit of creative re-working we have installed additional toilets and shown other residents some of the possibilities in the apartments we have done but every apartment is different. My tip would be to do some research within your complex as to what has been done by other owners and speak to them about the issues they had to overcome. If you don't know of any you could easily do a web search for your street address and you will see previous advertisements for apartments for sale along with (usually) pics. You could then approach them and ask how it went. It mightt save you some $$$ and time. Cheers

Hi Tash, I would stick with the white paint. You have noted you want timber, marble, grey, white and brass in the space and I feel that if you now add a colour to the walls that doesn't blend with the tiles that sit on the same wall there will be too many finishes in the space. Quite a few manufacturers have tiles similar to the one in your image so I'd check with your local supplier. If you do go with the subway tiles perhaps look for a handmade style tile and lay them as a herringbone style with white grout to get the same textural look you are after. Good luck! Tiny bathrooms are the hardest to design and get right. Your zig-zag wall between the two new bathrooms is going to make them both feel too pokey and small. Check the dimensions of your vanity as it looks too small, best to source what you would like to use, and draw it in to scale. Think about sightlines and resale without a bath. Consider how impractical outward opening doors are to rooms, especially if they affect circulation. Think outside the square and consider a diagonal dividing wall between the two, which will help make both spaces seem bigger. Having two tiny bathrooms that feel claustrophic and are tiny to use won't be worth spending the money on. Depending on the type of construction and what is below the floor you could easily spend $30 or much more on this project. The only way to design a tiny bathroom is to draw up the plan and elevations at a large 1:20 scale to ensure that everything fits. It is a tough one to solve nicely, so I would engage a professional designer to create a solution that will add value to your home. Your current proposal could possibly devalue it.
