Placement of black and white in kitchen
Comments (25)Hi Susan , thanks for your reply and update . It sounds amazing !!! I too have ditched all marbel whatsoever in our home. In the end I chose all black cabinetry ( polytechnic black Wenge) it was slightly warmer and has a grain. My bench tops are all Caesar stone osprey , including the kitchen island , scullery and benchtops. I have a large window splash back that runs along the oven etc . but also quite a lot of walls which I have tiled in an offshore herringbone .The colour of all painted walls throughout solver white delight . We have concrete slate tiling and the white warms this space. It sounds as though we have headed in a similar direction ! We are at the stage of build where the cabinets are getting installed / I'll take a pic and send - I'd love to see yours also ! Here is a pic of a kitchen that has the same elements and colours that I chose ....See MoreDulux Casper white quarter? Vivid White?
Comments (22)We have done all of the downstairs open plan area in Caspar white quarter. Skirts done in same colour in gloss with vivid white ceiling & cornice. We had a4 samples of 4 Dulux whites: Snowy Mountains 1/2, white exchange 1/2, white polar 1/4. Moved the samples to every room with hubby & wrote down which we preferred. Tried them in north and south rooms in day and night light. CW1/4 was hands down the favourite. It looks great - crisp & clean with no blue, we love it. Photos were taken at night. Hope this helps....See MoreKitchen renovation - the white paint dilemma
Comments (3)Sorry, I can’t comment on the whites you have mentioned. For what it’s worth, I’ll just mention that we’ve been very happy with Dulux Whisper White in the past. From memory it just has hint of black pigment in it. Found this to work well across a wide range of lighting situations. Great with a range of different timbers, from aged cypress (a bit yellow), cedar and iron bark (a bit red). To some it might look a bit stark but to my eye it always looked fresh, not dirty, and not creamy. An alternative is Dulux Half Duck White which we have used at quarter strength (half, half duck white ) which has the black pigment plus ochre I think, which Is similar but maybe a bit ‘softer’. Good luck....See MoreWhite Stone Benchtops to match cool white walls. Suggestions please!
Comments (15)Getting a quote on the Grande Statuario. I think it’s going to be significantly dearer than our first quote ☹️ The crispness of the White is perfect with great veining. Second quote being done with main island in the Statuario and with Smartstone along benches under window and into pantry, in case the first is too dear. Took our Lexicon 1/4 and overhead samples with us. Really happy with the choices. I just hope the first quote isn’t too dear as I’d prefer all white but I’d be happy with the combination of both tops....See Morelexie_mc_18
