How to style my entry?
Comments (15)I like it as is. I'd maybe consider a feature pendant light (or three) in the "void" above the stairs going down, but with the unique ceiling I don't think it needs it. Maybe a piece of art on the upstairs wall that is directly opposite the entry door. Something abstract / simple so that it looks nice when viewed from a distance (i.e. the front door). Otherwise, is there anything you *need* in the entry? For example, a bench or stool to put on and remove shoes? A small table to place mail, keys, sunglasses, etc. Some hooks for umbrellas, coats, hats, etc? A mirror to double-check your appearance before you leave the house?...See MoreHow to make my old style dining table modern
Comments (8)Beautiful table, re upholstering the chairs and updating the area where they are would be a good start, add some colour to,the room and a floor rug. when I saw the first picture I thought paint it but not so sure once I saw the lovely carved legs I became stuck on the decision. I painted my traditional dining table and changed the area it was in but mine was nothing special, a reproduction made of rubber-wood, beautifully made table but no vintage piece of furniture .. I did a story on it in Houzz called painting a table if you wanted to have a look. Another option could be to paint the chairs as well reupholstering them but leave the table as is. Good luck, hard one...See MoreHow can I make my home's entryway cosy and welcoming?

Comments (19)Kitchens have always been described as the heart of the home. So when you picture your dream kitchen, what sort of images come to mind? Are you loving the Modern Industrial style or maybe a Hamptons style kitchen is your current crush? Whatever you’re in to, we’ve got some amazing inspo for you! With so much inspiration floating around on the net, socials and glossy magazines, it’s so easy to fall into the trap of indecision. And just when you think you’ve nailed down the perfect kitchen, your thrown off track again because some other kitchen design pops up on Instragram. Creating a beautiful moodboard and pinning all your faves is the best way to start. Stalk all your favourite suppliers and designers social pages for up to the minute inspo. So then it’s just a matter of finding a common theme. It could be a cabinetry colour, backsplash tile, kitchen benchtop or even your tapware colour. Build your style from there. Maybe you pinned lots of black cabinetry, concrete benchtops and gunmetal tapware? Sounds like you’re into the Industrial Style. Crushing hard on marble benchtops, shaker style cabinets and polished chrome tapware? You’re definitely leaning towards a Hamptons style kitchen, for sure! If modern is more your style, you’ve probably got loads of neutral, clean finishes on your moodboard. White push-to-open cabinetry, stone benchtops and brushed nickel tapware is probably more your vibe....See MoreDebbie JAMES
